米甸的祭司有七个女儿，她们来打水，打满了水槽，要给父亲的羊群喝。

在那些被杀的人以外，还杀了米甸的五个王，就是以未、利金、苏珥、户珥和利巴；又用刀杀了比珥的儿子巴兰。以色列人掳了米甸人的妇女、孩子；又掳掠了他们所有的牲畜、羊群和财物；

“如果我把他交给你们，你们愿意给我什么呢？”他们就给了他三十块银子。

“你要在米甸人身上报以色列人的仇，然后要归到你本族那里去。”摩西对人民说：“要从你们中间使一些人武装起来去作战，攻击米甸人，好在米甸人身上为耶和华报仇。

我对他们说：“你们若看为美，就给我工资；不然，就算了。”于是，他们称了三十块银子作我的工资。那时，耶和华对我说：“你要把银子丢给陶匠。”那银子就是他们认为我应得的高价。我就拿了那三十块银子，在耶和华的殿里丢给陶匠了。

这应验了耶利米先知所说的：“他们拿了三十块银子，就是以色列人给他估定的价钱，

基甸又对他们说：“我有一个要求：请把你们各人夺得的耳环给我。”原来敌人都戴金耳环，因为他们是以实玛利人。

成群的骆驼必遮盖你的地，米甸和以法的小骆驼要盖满你的国境；示巴的人都必带着黄金和乳香来到，并且宣扬赞美耶和华的话。

那被杀的米甸女子，名叫哥斯比，是苏珥的女儿；这苏珥是米甸一个家族的族长。

以色列人对基甸说：“你既然拯救我们脱离了米甸人的手，求你和你的子孙统治我们。”

求你待他们好像待米甸人，像在基顺河待西西拉和耶宾一样；

“你要扰害米甸人，打击他们；
