Then Reuben said to them,“ Shed no blood. Throw him into this pit that is in the wilderness, but do not lay a hand on him”— so that later he might rescue him out of their hands, to return him to his father.

又说：“不可流他的血，可以把他丢在这野地的坑里，不可下手害他。”流便的意思是要救他脱离他们的手，把他归还他的父亲。

吕便又对他们说：“不可流他的血，可以把他丢在这旷野的坑里，不可下手害他。”吕便要救他脱离他们的手，把他还给他父亲。

又对他们说：“不可杀人流血！可以把他丢进这旷野的坑里，只是不可向他下手。”鲁本这样说，是要救约瑟脱离他们的手，把他带回父亲那里。

如便對他們說：『不可流他的血；把他丟在野地這個坑裏；不可伸手害他。』如便的意思是要援救他脫離他們的手，然後把他送回給他父親。

又對他們說：「不可殺人流血！可以把他丟進這曠野的坑裡，只是不可向他下手。」魯本這樣說，是要救約瑟脫離他們的手，把他帶回父親那裡。

又曰、勿流其血、勿著以手、曠野有井、投之於中可也、蓋欲援之、歸諸其父、

流便欲援之歸父、故曰、勿流其血、勿害其身、曠野有井、投之於中可也。○

流便又謂之曰、勿流其血、莫若投之於此野之一井井或作坑下同勿加手害之、流便此言、蓋欲救之脫於其手、以歸其父、

“ Don’t shed any blood. Throw him into this cistern here in the wilderness, but don’t lay a hand on him.” Reuben said this to rescue him from them and take him back to his father.

“ Don’t spill any of his blood. Throw him into this empty well here in the desert. But don’t harm him yourselves.” Reuben said that to save Joseph from them. He was hoping he could take him back to his father.

And Reuben said to them,“ Shed no blood; throw him into this pit here in the wilderness, but do not lay a hand on him”— that he might rescue him out of their hand to restore him to his father.

“ Why should we shed any blood? Let’s just throw him into this empty cistern here in the wilderness. Then he’ll die without our laying a hand on him.” Reuben was secretly planning to rescue Joseph and return him to his father.

Reuben also said to them,“ Don’t shed blood. Throw him into this pit in the wilderness, but don’t lay a hand on him”— intending to rescue him from them and return him to his father.

And Reuben said to them,“ Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit which is in the wilderness, and do not lay a hand on him”— that he might deliver him out of their hands, and bring him back to his father.

And Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood,[ but] cast him into this pit that[ is] in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again.

Reuben continued,“ Don’t shed blood! Throw him into this cistern that is here in the wilderness, but don’t lay a hand on him.”( Reuben said this so he could rescue Joseph from them and take him back to his father.)

Reuben answered them, saying,“ Did I not tell you,‘ Do not sin against the boy’; and you would not listen? Now justice for his blood is required.”

Yet He did not reach out with His hand against the nobles of the sons of Israel; and they saw God, and they ate and drank.

Now when Pilate saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying,“ I am innocent of this Man’s blood; you yourselves shall see.”

Now about that time Herod the king laid hands on some who belonged to the church, to do them harm.

Instead, you shall most certainly kill him; your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people.

He said,“ Do not reach out your hand against the boy, and do not do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”
