When Reuben heard this, he tried to save him from them. He said,“ Let’s not take his life.”

吕便听后想救约瑟的性命，就说：“我们不要害他性命。”

流本听见了，要救约瑟脱离他们的手。他说：“我们不可取他的性命。”

鲁本听见后，要救约瑟脱离他们的手，就说：“我们不可夺取他的性命。”

呂便聽見了，要救他脫離他們的手，說：「我們不可害他的性命」；

呂便聽見了，要救約瑟脫離他們的手，說：「我們不可害他的性命。」

呂便聽見了，要救約瑟脫離他們的手，說：「我們不可害他的性命。」

呂便聽後想救約瑟的性命，就說：「我們不要害他性命。」

流本聽見了，要救約瑟脫離他們的手。他說：“我們不可取他的性命。”

如便聽見了，就要援救他脫離他們的手；他說：『我們不可擊殺他的性命。』

魯本聽見後，要救約瑟脫離他們的手，就說：「我們不可奪取他的性命。」

流便聞之、欲救約瑟曰、勿戕其命、

When Reuben heard this, he tried to rescue him from their hands.“ Let’s not take his life,” he said.

Reuben heard them talking. He tried to save Joseph from them.“ Let’s not take his life,” he said.

But when Reuben heard it, he rescued him out of their hands, saying,“ Let us not take his life.”

But when Reuben heard of their scheme, he came to Joseph’s rescue.“ Let’s not kill him,” he said.

When Reuben heard this, he rescued Joseph from their hands, saying,“ Let’s not take his life!”

But Reuben replied:“ Didn’t I tell you not to harm the boy? But you wouldn’t listen. Now we must account for his blood!”

On that day Joshua captured Makkedah and struck it down with the sword, including its king. He completely destroyed it and everyone in it, leaving no survivors. So he treated the king of Makkedah as he had the king of Jericho.

Don’t fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; rather, fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

While Israel was living in that region, Reuben went in and slept with his father’s concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard about it. Jacob had 12 sons:

I will require the life of every animal and every man for your life and your blood. I will require the life of each man’s brother for a man’s life.
