Israel said to Joseph,“ Your brothers, you know, are pasturing the flocks at Shechem. Get ready. I’m sending you to them.”“ I’m ready,” Joseph replied.

and Israel said to Joseph,“ As you know, your brothers are grazing the flocks near Shechem. Come, I am going to send you to them.”“ Very well,” he replied.

Israel said to Joseph,“ As you know, your brothers are taking care of the flocks near Shechem. Come. I’m going to send you to them.”“ All right,” Joseph replied.

And Israel said to Joseph,“ Are not your brothers pasturing the flock at Shechem? Come, I will send you to them.” And he said to him,“ Here I am.”

When they had been gone for some time, Jacob said to Joseph,“ Your brothers are pasturing the sheep at Shechem. Get ready, and I will send you to them.”“ I’m ready to go,” Joseph replied.

Israel said to Joseph,“ Your brothers, you know, are pasturing the flocks at Shechem. Get ready. I’m sending you to them.”“ I’m ready,” Joseph replied.

And Israel said to Joseph,“ Are your brothers not pasturing the flock in Shechem? Come, and I will send you to them.” And he said to him,“ I will go.”

And Israel said to Joseph,“ Are not your brothers feeding the flock in Shechem? Come, I will send you to them.” So he said to him,“ Here I am.”

And Israel said unto Joseph, Are not thy brethren feeding the flock in Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here am I.

And Israel said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed[ the flock] in Shechem? come, and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here[ am I].

Israel said to Joseph,“ Your brothers are grazing the flocks near Shechem. Come, I will send you to them.”“ I’m ready,” Joseph replied.

Israel said to Joseph,“ Aren’t your brothers feeding the flock in Shechem? Come, and I will send you to them.” He said to him,“ Here I am.”

When he came to his father, he said,“ My father.” And he answered,“ Here I am. Who are you, my son?”

but Eli called him and said,“ Samuel, my son.”“ Here I am,” answered Samuel.

When Isaac was old and his eyes were so weak that he could not see, he called his older son Esau and said to him,“ My son.” And he answered,“ Here I am.”

Then the Lord called Samuel, and he answered,“ Here I am.”He ran to Eli and said,“ Here I am; you called me.”“ I didn’t call,” Eli replied.“ Go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down.Once again the Lord called,“ Samuel!” Samuel got up, went to Eli, and said,“ Here I am; you called me.”“ I didn’t call, my son,” he replied.“ Go back and lie down.”

Once again, for the third time, the Lord called Samuel. He got up, went to Eli, and said,“ Here I am; you called me.” Then Eli understood that the Lord was calling the boy.

After these things God tested Abraham and said to him,“ Abraham!”“ Here I am,” he answered.

“ Then the owner of the vineyard said,‘ What should I do? I will send my beloved son. Perhaps they will respect him.’

“ Look, I’m sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as serpents and as harmless as doves.

Children, obey your parents as you would the Lord, because this is right.Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise,so that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life in the land.

One day Jesse had told his son David:“ Take this half-bushel of roasted grain along with these 10 loaves of bread for your brothers and hurry to their camp.Also take these 10 portions of cheese to the field commander. Check on the welfare of your brothers and bring a confirmation from them.They are with Saul and all the men of Israel in the Valley of Elah fighting with the Philistines.”So David got up early in the morning, left the flock with someone to keep it, loaded up, and set out as Jesse had instructed him. He arrived at the perimeter of the camp as the army was marching out to its battle formation shouting their battle cry.
