Then they set out, and the terror of God fell on the towns all around them so that no one pursued them.

凡爾所至之地、我必使其民皆畏懼爾、紛紛潰亂、我必使爾敵在爾前奔逃、原文作使爾諸敵轉背向爾

主使猶大四周之列國畏懼、不敢與約沙法戰、

約但西亞摩利諸王、與海濱迦南諸王、聞主於以色列人前、使約但之水涸、待以色列人悉過、則心怯膽喪、懼以色列人魂不附體、魂不附體或作志氣盡墜○

彼眾必大驚懼、因天主保祐善類、

謂之曰、主已將此地賜爾、為我所知、我儕悉懼爾、斯地一切居民、皆緣爾喪膽、爾出伊及時、主為爾使紅海水涸、爾如何待約但東之亞摩利二王西宏及噩、即爾所殲滅者、此皆為我所聞、我聞之心怯、各緣爾之故、魂不附體、魂不附體或作志氣盡墜蓋主爾之天主乃上天下地之天主、

我必逐列邦於爾前、開廓爾境、爾一年三次、往覲爾天主耶和華、於此時必無人貪謀爾地、

必無人能禦爾、爾所至之各地、主爾之天主必使其居民因爾驚懼悚惶、以應所許爾之言、○

以東侯伯、俱已驚惶、摩押英雄、無不悚惕、迦南居民、盡皆喪膽、驚駭恐懼臨及其身、主顯大能、彼眾如石寂然不動、待主之民經行、待主所選之民經行、

於是在田之軍、非利士眾、無不戰慄、營卒掠兵、亦俱戰慄、猶如地震、戰慄極大、猶如地震戰慄極大或作地亦震動是天主使之戰慄

以雙牛剖之付使者、攜至以色列四境、曰、不出而隨掃羅與撒母耳者、亦必如此剖其牛、主使民畏懼、俱懷一心而出、

基拉四圍之諸邑、主使其居民甚懼、亞撒之軍擊之、奪獲諸邑之貨財、諸邑中貨財甚多、

雅各謂西緬利未曰、爾曹累我、致我遺臭於居此地之迦南族、比利洗族、且我儕人寡、彼將聚而攻我、則我與全家必致剪滅、
