So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears, and Jacob buried them under the oak at Shechem.

那日，約書亞就與百姓立約，在示劍為他們制定律例典章。約書亞把這些話寫在上帝的律法書上，又拿一塊大石頭立在橡樹下耶和華聖所的旁邊。

基甸又對他們說：「我有一件事求你們，請你們各人把所奪的耳環給我。」因敵人都戴金耳環，他們是以實瑪利人。以色列人說：「我們情願送給你！」他們就鋪開一件外衣，各人將所奪的耳環丟在上面。基甸所要求的金耳環，重一千七百舍客勒金子。此外還有米甸王所戴的月牙圈、耳環，和所穿的紫色衣服，以及駱駝頸項上的鏈子。基甸以此造了一個以弗得，設立在他的本城俄弗拉。全以色列就在那裏拜這以弗得行淫，這就成了基甸和他全家的圈套。

我要懲罰她素日給諸巴力燒香的罪；那時她佩戴耳環和珠寶，跟隨她所愛的，卻忘記我。這是耶和華說的。

他將他們所鑄的牛犢用火焚燒，磨得粉碎，撒在水面上，叫以色列人喝。

到那日，人必將造來敬拜的金偶像、銀偶像拋給田鼠和蝙蝠。

你們卻要這樣處置他們：拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的柱像，砍斷他們的亞舍拉，用火焚燒他們雕刻的偶像。

你們要用火焚燒他們神明的雕刻偶像；不可貪愛偶像上的金銀，也不可私自收起來，免得你因此陷入圈套，因為這是耶和華－你上帝所憎惡的。

你要玷污那雕刻偶像所包的銀子和鑄造偶像所鍍的金子。你要拋棄它們，如拋棄污穢之物；對偶像說：「去吧！」

亞倫對他們說：「你們去摘下你們妻子、兒女耳上的金環，拿來給我。」眾百姓就摘下他們耳上的金環，拿來給亞倫。亞倫從他們手裏接過來，用模子塑造它，把它鑄成一頭牛犢。他們就說：「以色列啊，這是領你出埃及地的神明！」
