So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears, and Jacob buried them under the oak at Shechem.

那日，约书亚就与百姓立约，在示剑为他们制定律例典章。约书亚把这些话写在上帝的律法书上，又拿一块大石头立在橡树下耶和华圣所的旁边。

基甸又对他们说：“我有一件事求你们，请你们各人把所夺的耳环给我。”因敌人都戴金耳环，他们是以实玛利人。以色列人说：“我们情愿送给你！”他们就铺开一件外衣，各人将所夺的耳环丢在上面。基甸所要求的金耳环，重一千七百舍客勒金子。此外还有米甸王所戴的月牙圈、耳环，和所穿的紫色衣服，以及骆驼颈项上的链子。基甸以此造了一个以弗得，设立在他的本城俄弗拉。全以色列就在那里拜这以弗得行淫，这就成了基甸和他全家的圈套。

我要惩罚她素日给诸巴力烧香的罪；那时她佩戴耳环和珠宝，跟随她所爱的，却忘记我。这是耶和华说的。

他将他们所铸的牛犊用火焚烧，磨得粉碎，撒在水面上，叫以色列人喝。

到那日，人必将造来敬拜的金偶像、银偶像抛给田鼠和蝙蝠。

你们却要这样处置他们：拆毁他们的祭坛，打碎他们的柱像，砍断他们的亚舍拉，用火焚烧他们雕刻的偶像。

你们要用火焚烧他们神明的雕刻偶像；不可贪爱偶像上的金银，也不可私自收起来，免得你因此陷入圈套，因为这是耶和华—你上帝所憎恶的。

你要玷污那雕刻偶像所包的银子和铸造偶像所镀的金子。你要抛弃它们，如抛弃污秽之物；对偶像说：“去吧！”

亚伦对他们说：“你们去摘下你们妻子、儿女耳上的金环，拿来给我。”众百姓就摘下他们耳上的金环，拿来给亚伦。亚伦从他们手里接过来，用模子塑造它，把它铸成一头牛犊。他们就说：“以色列啊，这是领你出埃及地的神明！”
