So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears, and Jacob buried them under the oak at Shechem.

示剑人和米罗人都一同聚集，往示剑橡树旁的柱子那里，立亚比米勒为王。

当日，约书亚就与百姓立约，在示剑为他们立定律例典章。约书亚将这些话都写在神的律法书上，又将一块大石头立在橡树下耶和华的圣所旁边。

基甸又对他们说：“我有一件事求你们：请你们各人将所夺的耳环给我。”原来仇敌是以实玛利人，都是戴金耳环的。他们说：“我们情愿给你”，就铺开一件外衣，各人将所夺的耳环丢在其上。基甸所要出来的金耳环重一千七百舍客勒金子。此外还有米甸王所戴的月环、耳坠，和所穿的紫色衣服，并骆驼项上的金链子。基甸以此制造了一个以弗得，设立在本城俄弗拉。后来以色列人拜那以弗得行了邪淫；这就作了基甸和他全家的网罗。

我必追讨她素日给诸巴力烧香的罪；那时她佩带耳环和别样妆饰，随从她所爱的，却忘记我。这是耶和华说的。”

又将他们所铸的牛犊用火焚烧，磨得粉碎，撒在水面上，叫以色列人喝。

到那日，人必将为拜而造的金偶像、银偶像抛给田鼠和蝙蝠。

你们却要这样待他们：拆毁他们的祭坛，打碎他们的柱像，砍下他们的木偶，用火焚烧他们雕刻的偶像。

他们雕刻的神像，你们要用火焚烧；其上的金银，你不可贪图，也不可收取，免得你因此陷入网罗；这原是耶和华你神所憎恶的。

你雕刻偶像所包的银子和铸造偶像所镀的金子，你要玷污，要抛弃，好像污秽之物，对偶像说：“去吧！”

亚伦对他们说：“你们去摘下你们妻子、儿女耳上的金环，拿来给我。”百姓就都摘下他们耳上的金环，拿来给亚伦。亚伦从他们手里接过来，铸了一只牛犊，用雕刻的器具做成。他们就说：“以色列啊，这是领你出埃及地的神。”
