God said to Jacob,“ Arise, go up to Bethel, and live there. Make there an altar to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.”

上帝对雅各说：“你到伯特利去住，你要在那里为上帝筑一座坛，祂在你逃避你哥哥以扫时曾向你显现。”

神对雅各说：“起来，上伯特利去，住在那里；你要在那里筑一座坛给神，就是从前你逃避你哥哥以扫的时候，向你显现的那一位。”

神对雅各说：“起来，上伯特利去，住在那里；你要在那里造一座祭坛给神——他是你逃避你哥哥以扫的时候曾向你显现的那一位。”

神對雅各說：「起來！上伯特利去，住在那裏；要在那裏築一座壇給神，就是你逃避你哥哥以掃的時候向你顯現的那位。」

上帝對雅各說：「起來！上伯特利去，住在那裏。在那裏築一座壇給上帝，就是你逃避你哥哥以掃的時候向你顯現的上帝。」

神對雅各說：「起來！上伯特利去，住在那裏。在那裏築一座壇給神，就是你逃避你哥哥以掃的時候向你顯現的神。」

上帝對雅各說：「你到伯特利去住，你要在那裡為上帝築一座壇，祂在你逃避你哥哥以掃時曾向你顯現。」

神對雅各說：「起來，上伯特利去，住在那裡；你要在那裡造一座祭壇給神——他是你逃避你哥哥以掃的時候曾向你顯現的那一位。」

Then God said to Jacob,“ Go up to Bethel and settle there, and build an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you were fleeing from your brother Esau.”

Then God said to Jacob,“ Go up to Bethel and live there. Build an altar there to honor me. That’s where I appeared to you when you were running away from your brother Esau.”

God said to Jacob,“ Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there. Make an altar there to the God who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.”

Then God said to Jacob,“ Get ready and move to Bethel and settle there. Build an altar there to the God who appeared to you when you fled from your brother, Esau.”

God said to Jacob,“ Get up! Go to Bethel and settle there. Build an altar there to the God who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.”

Then God said to Jacob,“ Arise, go up to Bethel and live there, and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.”

Then God said to Jacob,“ Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there; and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.”

And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Beth- el, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, who appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

God said to Jacob,“ Get up! Go to Bethel and settle there. Build an altar there to the God who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.”

And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

Then God said to Jacob,“ Go up at once to Bethel and live there. Make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from your brother Esau.”

For Yahweh will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone; that there is no one remaining, shut up or left at large.

Indeed, he struggled with the angel, and prevailed; he wept, and made supplication to him. He found him at Bethel, and there he spoke with us,

He will call on me, and I will answer him. I will be with him in trouble. I will deliver him, and honor him.

I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar, where you vowed a vow to me. Now arise, get out from this land, and return to the land of your birth.’”

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

He went on his journeys from the South as far as Bethel, to the place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Ai,to the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first. There Abram called on Yahweh’s name.

Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him. Esau said in his heart,“ The days of mourning for my father are at hand. Then I will kill my brother Jacob.”The words of Esau, her elder son, were told to Rebekah. She sent and called Jacob, her younger son, and said to him,“ Behold, your brother Esau comforts himself about you by planning to kill you.Now therefore, my son, obey my voice. Arise, flee to Laban, my brother, in Haran.Stay with him a few days, until your brother’s fury turns away—until your brother’s anger turns away from you, and he forgets what you have done to him. Then I will send, and get you from there. Why should I be bereaved of you both in one day?”

He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

He said,“ Hagar, Sarai’s servant, where did you come from? Where are you going?” She said,“ I am fleeing from the face of my mistress Sarai.”

He built an altar there, and called the place El Beth El; because there God was revealed to him, when he fled from the face of his brother.

He left from there to go to the mountain on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to Yahweh and called on Yahweh’s name.

Yahweh said to Jacob,“ Return to the land of your fathers, and to your relatives, and I will be with you.”

When you vow a vow to God, don’t defer to pay it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay that which you vow.It is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay.Don’t allow your mouth to lead you into sin. Don’t protest before the messenger that this was a mistake. Why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands?

Abraham called the name of that place“ Yahweh Will Provide”. As it is said to this day,“ On Yahweh’s mountain, it will be provided.”

Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to kill Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and lived in the land of Midian, and he sat down by a well.

Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.He came to a certain place, and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. He took one of the stones of the place, and put it under his head, and lay down in that place to sleep.He dreamed and saw a stairway set upon the earth, and its top reached to heaven. Behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.Behold, Yahweh stood above it, and said,“ I am Yahweh, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac. I will give the land you lie on to you and to your offspring.Your offspring will be as the dust of the earth, and you will spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. In you and in your offspring, all the families of the earth will be blessed.Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.”Jacob awakened out of his sleep, and he said,“ Surely Yahweh is in this place, and I didn’t know it.”He was afraid, and said,“ How awesome this place is! This is none other than God’s house, and this is the gate of heaven.”Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil on its top.He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first.Jacob vowed a vow, saying,“ If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on,so that I come again to my father’s house in peace, and Yahweh will be my God,then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God’s house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give a tenth to you.”

Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace! Keep your feasts, Judah! Perform your vows, for the wicked one will no more pass through you. He is utterly cut off.
