但你們屬於蒙揀選的族類、君王的祭司體系、聖潔的國度，是屬神的子民；為要使你們宣揚曾召喚你們的那一位的美德——他召喚你們出黑暗，入他奇妙的光明。

耶和華啊，你所賜的法度極其信實；聖潔在你殿中是合宜的，直到永遠！

至於淫亂和一切汙穢，或是貪心，在你們中間連提都不可提，這樣才與聖徒相宜。

同時她們又學會了懶惰，四處串門；不僅懶惰，還好說閒話，好管閒事，說不該說的話。

你們要逃避淫亂。「人所犯的各樣罪都在身體以外」，只有那行淫亂的是對自己的身體犯罪。

我們也不可行淫亂，像他們中的有些人行淫亂，結果一天就倒斃了兩萬三千人。

所以，當把你們屬世的各個部分看為死了的，就如淫亂、汙穢、邪情、惡慾和貪心，貪心就是拜偶像。

我看到在無知的人中，發現在年輕人中間，有一個缺乏心智的少年人，

大衛王聽說了這一切事，非常惱火；

這樣，雅各帶著他的兒子、孫子、女兒、孫女，他所有的子孫，一同來到了埃及。

頌讚和詛咒從同一張嘴裡出來！我的弟兄們，這些事不應該如此！
