因为表面上作犹太人的并不是犹太人，在肉身上表面的割礼也不是割礼。唯有在内心作犹太人的才是犹太人；割礼也是心里的，是靠着圣灵而不是靠着仪文。这样的人所受的称赞，不是从人来的，而是从神来的。

就在那一天，亚伯拉罕照着神吩咐他的，给他儿子以实玛利，和他家里所有的男子，无论是在家里生的，或是用银子买来的，都割去了他们身上的包皮。

割礼算不得什么，没有割礼也算不得什么，要紧的是遵守神的命令。

都在赫人眼前，就是在所有来到城门口的赫人眼前，归给亚伯拉罕作产业。

你们这些所多玛的官长啊！要听耶和华的话；你们这些蛾摩拉的人民啊！要侧耳听我们神的教训。耶和华说：“你们献上众多祭物，对我有什么益处呢？公绵羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂肪，我已经够了；公牛、羊羔和公山羊的血，我都不喜悦。你们来朝见我的时候，谁要求你们这样践踏我的院子呢？不要再带没有意义的供物来了，烧献祭物的香气也是我厌恶的。我厌烦月朔、安息日和集会；作罪孽又守严肃会，是我不能容忍的。你们的月朔和制定的节期，我心里恨恶；它们都成了我的重担，我已承担得不耐烦了。所以你们张开双手的时候，我必掩眼不看你们；即使你们多多祷告，我也不听；你们的手都沾满血腥。你们要洗涤自己，洁净自己；从我眼前除掉你们的恶行；要停止作恶，
