Because their sister Dinah had been defiled, Jacob’s sons replied deceitfully as they spoke to Shechem and his father Hamor.

Their sister Dinah had been raped. So Jacob’s sons lied to Shechem and his father Hamor.

See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.
