After Jacob came from Paddan Aram, he arrived safely at the city of Shechem in Canaan and camped within sight of the city.

耶路．巴力的兒子亞比米勒，到示劍去見他的眾母舅，對他們和他母親的全體族人說：

運到示劍，埋葬在亞伯拉罕用銀子向哈抹子孫買來的墳地裡。

約書亞在示劍召集以色列各支派，又把以色列的長老、首領、審判官和官長都召了來，他們就站在神面前。

以撒娶利百加為妻的時候，正四十歲。利百加是巴旦．亞蘭地、亞蘭人彼土利的女兒，是亞蘭人拉班的妹妹。

於是到了撒瑪利亞的一座城，名叫敘加；這城靠近雅各給他兒子約瑟的那塊地。

起來，到巴旦．亞蘭你外祖父彼土利的家裡去，在那裡娶你舅父拉班的一個女兒為妻。

以掃見以撒給雅各祝福，又打發他到巴旦．亞蘭去，在那裡娶妻；又見以撒給雅各祝福的時候，吩咐他說：“你不可娶迦南的女子為妻”；又見雅各聽從了他父母的話，到巴旦．亞蘭去了；

雅各從巴旦．亞蘭回來以後，神再次向他顯現，賜福給他。

以上這些人是利亞在巴旦．亞蘭給雅各生的兒子，另外還有女兒底拿。這些子孫一共三十三人。

約翰也在靠近撒冷的艾嫩施洗，因為那裡水多；眾人都去受洗。
