以掃看見父親給雅各祝福，讓他到巴旦·亞蘭娶妻，叮囑他不要娶迦南的女子，又看見雅各聽從父母到巴旦·亞蘭去了，

雅各從巴旦·亞蘭回來後，上帝又向他顯現，賜福給他。

這些都是利亞在巴旦·亞蘭給雅各生的兒孫，加上女兒底娜共有三十三人。

那時約翰還沒有入獄，他在靠近撒冷的哀嫩也給人施洗。那裡水多，眾人都去受洗。
