於是他們在急難中喊求永恆主援救他們脫離他們的窘迫；

耶穌對他們說：『小信的人哪，為甚麼膽怯？』便起來，斥責風和海，就大大平靜了。

是的，凡立志要在基督耶穌裏敬虔度生活的、都會遭受到逼迫的。

求你援救我脫離我哥哥的手，以掃的手，因為我怕他，恐怕他來擊殺我，連做母親的帶做兒女的都殺了。

恩待人、借給人的、這人必有福利；他以公正維持自己的事務。

法老越走越近的時候，以色列人一舉目，看見埃及人前進着趕來，就極其懼怕；向永恆主哀叫，

我心裏發昏時、我從地之儘邊極呼求你。願你把我高置於磐石上，將我安頓好了。

我聽見了許多人的讒誹；四圍盡是恐怖！他們一同商議攻擊我，圖謀要奪取我的性命。

弟兄們，我們不願意你們不明白我們從前在亞西亞所受的苦難，就是：極受重壓，出於力所能勝之外，甚至到了絕望，連活着的希望都沒有；自己心裏也已斷定必死。這是要使我們不倚靠自己，乃倚靠那叫死人活起來的上帝。他已經援救我們脫離這麼大的死亡，將來還要援救；我們一向所寄望的他、將來還要援救。

堅固門徒的心，鼓勵他們要堅守信仰。又說我們要進上帝的國、經由許多苦難是必須的。』

因為他的上帝教導他，將對的方法指教他。

謀略必護衛你；明哲必守護着你；

在我們的一切苦難中、他安慰我們，使我們能藉着我們自己受上帝所安慰的安慰、去安慰在各樣苦難中的人。

我望着右邊看，並沒有人注意到我；我逃走的路都斷絕了，沒有人照顧我。

我將這些事告訴你們，是要使你們有平安於我裏面。在世界、你們有苦難；但你們要放膽，我已經勝了世界。』

我心裏翻騰難過；死亡的恐怖落於我身。恐懼震顫臨到了我，戰慄發抖把我淹沒了。
