于是他们在危难中向耶和华呼求，他就解救他们脱离困境；

耶稣对他们说：“为什么胆怯呢？你们这些小信的人哪！”耶稣就起来，斥责风和浪，湖面就变得一片平静。

其实，所有想要在基督耶稣里过敬神生活的，也都会受到逼迫；

求你救我脱离我哥哥以扫的手，因为我畏惧他，恐怕他来击杀我，连母亲和孩子也一同击杀。

恩待人、借予人的，是有福之人，他秉公办事；

我心里虚弱的时候，就从地极向你呼求；求你引导我到那比我更高的磐石。

我听见许多的谣言，四围都是恐吓；他们一同商定对付我，决意取走我的性命。

弟兄们，我们不愿意你们不明白我们在亚细亚省所遭受的患难：我们所受的压力远远过于我们的承受能力，甚至连活下去的希望也没有了。然而我们在自己里面已经承受了死亡的判决，好让我们不依靠自己，而依靠那使死人复活的神。他救我们脱离了如此致命的危险，并且将来要救我们——我们盼望他将来还要救我们。

坚固门徒们的心，鼓励他们持守信仰，说：“我们进入神的国，必须经过很多患难。”

因为他的神指示他，教导他农耕之法。

谋略会看守你，聪慧会守护你，

在我们一切的患难中，他安慰我们，使我们自己能用从神所受的安慰去安慰那些在各样患难中的人，

求你向我右边观看，没有人理睬我，我没有避难的地方，也没有人顾念我的灵魂！

我把这些事告诉了你们，好让你们在我里面有平安。在世上你们有患难，然而你们要鼓起勇气！我已经胜过了这世界。”

我的心在我里面极度痛苦，死亡的恐怖落在我身上。惧怕和战兢临到我，惊骇笼罩着我。
