He instructed them:“ This is what you are to say to my lord Esau:‘ Your servant Jacob says, I have been staying with Laban and have remained there till now.

就如撒拉听从亚伯拉罕，称他为主。你们若行善，不因恐吓而害怕，便是撒拉的女儿了。

于是他们腰束麻布，头套绳索，去见以色列王，说：“王的仆人便哈达说，求王存留我的性命。”亚哈说：“他还活着吗？他是我的兄弟。”

“我主请听。你在我们中间是一位尊大的王子，只管在我们最好的坟地里埋葬你的死人；我们没有一人不容你在他的坟地里埋葬你的死人。”

以扫说：“我所遇见的这些群畜是什么意思呢？”雅各说：“是要在我主面前蒙恩的。”

扫罗听出是大卫的声音，就说：“我儿大卫，这是你的声音吗？”大卫说：“主我的王啊，是我的声音”；

掌权者的心若向你发怒，不要离开你的本位，因为柔和能免大过。

以撒回答以扫说：“我已立他为你的主，使他的弟兄都给他作仆人，并赐他五谷新酒可以养生。我儿，现在我还能为你做什么呢？”

你若行得好，岂不蒙悦纳？你若行得不好，罪就伏在门前。它必恋慕你，你却要制伏它。”

愿多民侍奉你，多国跪拜你。愿你作你弟兄的主；你母亲的儿子向你跪拜。凡咒诅你的，愿他受咒诅；为你祝福的，愿他蒙福。”

我儿，你既落在朋友手中，就当这样行才可救自己：你要自卑，去恳求你的朋友。

亚伦说：“求我主不要发烈怒。这百姓专于作恶，是你知道的。

我有牛、驴、羊群、仆婢，现在打发人来报告我主，为要在你眼前蒙恩。’”
