He instructed them:“ This is what you are to say to my lord Esau:‘ Your servant Jacob says, I have been staying with Laban and have remained there till now.

因为每一个自我高举的都会被降卑；而自我降卑的都会被高举。”

温和的回答，使怒火消退；尖刻的话语，会激起怒气。

你就回答：‘是你仆人雅各的，是送给我主以扫的礼物。看哪，他自己也在我们后面。’”

就像撒拉顺从亚伯拉罕，称他为主那样；当你们行善而不怕任何惊扰的时候，就成为撒拉的儿女了。

“我主啊，请听我们说！你在我们中间是尊贵的王子，请在我们最好的坟地安葬你的死者吧！我们中没有一个人会阻止你在他的坟地安葬你的死者。”

以扫说：“我所遇见的这一整队，是什么意思呢？”雅各说：“是为了在我主眼前蒙恩。”

扫罗认出大卫的声音，就问：“我儿大卫，这是你的声音吗？”大卫回答：“我主我王啊，是我的声音。”

如果管辖者的怒气向你上腾，你不要离开你的本位，因为平静能止住极大的罪过。

以撒就回答以扫，说：“看哪，我已经立他为你的主人，又把他所有的兄弟给他为仆人，并把五谷和新酒供给了他。我儿啊，现在我还能为你做什么呢？”

如果你做得好，能不蒙悦纳吗？如果你做得不好，罪就伏在门口了；它必恋慕你，而你要管辖它。”

愿万民服事你，万族向你下拜；愿你成为你兄弟们的主人，你母亲的儿子们向你下拜。诅咒你的人，愿他受诅咒；祝福你的人，愿他蒙祝福。”

那么，我儿啊，既然你已经落在邻人的掌中，你就当这样做来解救自己：你当去，谦卑下来，恳求你的邻人；

我有牛、驴、羊群、男仆和婢女；我派人来告诉我主，为要在你眼前蒙恩。”’”
