“ Please tell me your name,” Jacob said.“ Why do you want to know my name?” the man replied. Then he blessed Jacob there.

雅各问他，说：“请把你的名告诉我。”那人回答：“为什么问我的名呢？”他就在那里给雅各祝福。

雅各问他说：“请把你的名字告诉我。”那人说：“为什么要问我的名字呢？”他就在那里祝福了雅各。

雅各問他說：「請將你的名告訴我。」那人說：「何必問我的名？」於是在那裏給雅各祝福。

雅各問他說：「請告訴我你的名字。」那人說：「何必問我的名字呢？」於是他在那裏為雅各祝福。

雅各問他，說：“請把你的名告訴我。”那人回答：“為甚麼問我的名呢？”他就在那裡給雅各祝福。

雅各問說：『請將你的名告訴我。』那人說：『你為甚麼問我的名？』他就在那裏給雅各祝福。

雅各問他說：「請把你的名字告訴我。」那人說：「為什麼要問我的名字呢？」他就在那裡祝福了雅各。

雅各曰、請以爾名告我、曰、曷問我名、遂在彼為之祝嘏、

雅各問曰、請以爾名告我、曰、何問我名、遂在彼為雅各祝福、

Jacob said,“ Please tell me your name.” But he replied,“ Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there.

Jacob said,“ Please tell me your name.” But he replied,“ Why do you want to know my name?” Then he blessed Jacob there.

Then Jacob asked him,“ Please tell me your name.” But he said,“ Why is it that you ask my name?” And there he blessed him.

Then Jacob asked him,“ Please tell me your name.” But he answered,“ Why do you ask my name?” And he blessed him there.

And Jacob asked him and said,“ Please tell me your name.” But he said,“ Why is it that you ask my name?” And he blessed him there.

Then Jacob asked, saying,“ Tell me Your name, I pray.” And He said,“ Why is it that you ask about My name?” And He blessed him there.

And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.

Then Jacob asked Him,“ Please tell me Your name.” But He answered,“ Why do you ask My name?” And He blessed him there.

And Jacob asked[ him], and said, Tell[ me], I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore[ is] it[ that] thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.

Then Jacob asked,“ Please tell me your name.”“ Why do you ask my name?” the man replied. Then he blessed Jacob there.

Jacob asked him,“ Please tell me your name.” He said,“ Why is it that you ask what my name is?” He blessed him there.

“ I will stay,” the angel of the Lord replied,“ but I will not eat anything. However, you may prepare a burnt offering as a sacrifice to the Lord.”( Manoah didn’t realize it was the angel of the Lord.)Then Manoah asked the angel of the Lord,“ What is your name? For when all this comes true, we want to honor you.”“ Why do you ask my name?” the angel of the Lord replied.“ It is too wonderful for you to understand.”

At the top of the stairway stood the Lord, and he said,“ I am the Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham, and the God of your father, Isaac. The ground you are lying on belongs to you. I am giving it to you and your descendants.Your descendants will be as numerous as the dust of the earth! They will spread out in all directions— to the west and the east, to the north and the south. And all the families of the earth will be blessed through you and your descendants.

“ The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions.

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Who but God goes up to heaven and comes back down? Who holds the wind in his fists? Who wraps up the oceans in his cloak? Who has created the whole wide world? What is his name— and his son’s name? Tell me if you know!

“ Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds.

“ From the dew of heaven and the richness of the earth, may God always give you abundant harvests of grain and bountiful new wine.May many nations become your servants, and may they bow down to you. May you be the master over your brothers, and may your mother’s sons bow down to you. All who curse you will be cursed, and all who bless you will be blessed.”

May God Almighty bless you and give you many children. And may your descendants multiply and become many nations!May God pass on to you and your descendants the blessings he promised to Abraham. May you own this land where you are now living as a foreigner, for God gave this land to Abraham.”

Then the man said,“ Let me go, for the dawn is breaking!” But Jacob said,“ I will not let you go unless you bless me.”“ What is your name?” the man asked. He replied,“ Jacob.”

Then the angel said,“ I am Gabriel! I stand in the very presence of God. It was he who sent me to bring you this good news!

“ Can you solve the mysteries of God? Can you discover everything about the Almighty?
