When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man.

The man saw that he couldn’t win. So he touched the inside of Jacob’s hip. As Jacob wrestled with the man, Jacob’s hip was twisted.

When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he touched his hip socket, and Jacob’s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him.

When the man saw that he would not win the match, he touched Jacob’s hip and wrenched it out of its socket.

And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was strained, as he wrestled with him.

When I was secure, I said,“ I will never be shaken.”Lord, when You showed Your favor, You made me stand like a strong mountain; when You hid Your face, I was terrified.

Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel: I will help you— this is the Lord’s declaration. Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

Stay awake and pray, so that you won’t enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

But Moses replied to the Lord,“ The Egyptians will hear about it, for by Your strength You brought up this people from them.They will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. Hurry up! Run there, for I cannot do anything until you get there.” Therefore the name of the city is Zoar.
