When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man.

The man saw that he couldn’t win. So he touched the inside of Jacob’s hip. As Jacob wrestled with the man, Jacob’s hip was twisted.

When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he touched his hip socket, and Jacob’s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him.

When the man saw that he would not win the match, he touched Jacob’s hip and wrenched it out of its socket.

When the man saw that he could not defeat him, he struck Jacob’s hip socket as they wrestled and dislocated his hip.

When the man saw that he had not prevailed against him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was dislocated while he wrestled with him.

And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was strained, as he wrestled with him.

When the man saw that He could not defeat him, He struck Jacob’s hip socket as they wrestled and dislocated his hip.

並且為了不讓我因這些極大的啟示而高抬自己，有一根刺加在我的肉體上，就是撒旦的使者來擊打我，免得我高抬自己。為了這事，我三次求主使這根刺離開我。但他對我說：「我的恩典是夠你用的，因為我的大能在軟弱中得以完全。」因此，我反而極其樂意地誇耀我的那些軟弱，好讓基督的能力遮蓋在我身上。

因此直到今天，以色列子孫不吃大腿窩上的腱子筋，因為那人碰了雅各大腿窩上的腱子筋。

至於我，我安穩的時候曾說：「我永遠不致動搖。」耶和華啊，藉著你的恩典，你使我的江山穩固；你隱藏你的臉，我就感到惶恐！

幼蟲雅各啊，以色列人哪，不要害怕，我必幫助你！你的救贖主是以色列的聖者！這是耶和華的宣告。

要警醒禱告，免得陷入試探。你們心靈雖然願意，肉體卻是軟弱的。」

這時候，忽然來了一個住在那地區的迦南婦人，她呼叫說：「主啊，大衛的後裔，可憐我吧！我的女兒有鬼魔附身，痛苦萬分。」耶穌一句話也不回應，他的門徒們上前來求他，說：「這婦人一直跟在我們後面喊叫，請讓她走吧。」耶穌回答說：「我奉差派，只到以色列家迷失的羊那裡去。」那婦人來拜他，說：「主啊，求你幫助我！」耶穌回答說：「拿兒女的餅扔給小狗，是不合宜的。」婦人說：「是的，主啊！不過連小狗也吃得到主人桌子上掉下來的碎渣！」於是耶穌回答她，說：「哦，婦人哪，你這信心是大的！照你所願的，給你成全吧。」從那一刻起，她的女兒就痊癒了。

你趕快逃到那裡，因為你到達那裡之前，我什麼也不能做。」因此那城的名字稱為瑣珥。

以色列的聖者，以色列的塑造者耶和華如此說：「你們當問我即將來臨的事！關於我的子民和我手的作為，難道你們要命令我嗎？

耶穌又離開他們，第三次去禱告，又說了同樣的話。

耶穌又對他們說：「假如你們當中誰有一個朋友，就半夜到朋友那裡去，對他說：『朋友，請借給我三個餅，因為有一個朋友旅途中來到我這裡，我沒有什麼可以招待他。』那個人從裡面回答說：『請不要煩擾我。門已經關上了，我與孩子們也已經上了床，不能起來拿給你。』我告訴你們：即使不因著是朋友而起來拿給他，還是會因著他毫無羞愧地求，就起來把他所要的拿給他。
