巴勒對巴蘭說：『你待我的是怎麼回事呢？我領你來咒詛我的仇敵；你看，你竟全給他們祝福了！』

蠻野人看見那活物懸在保羅手上，就彼此說：『這個人一定是兇手，他從海裏平安得了救，天理報應還不容他活着。』保羅呢、只把那活物抖在火裏，並沒有受害。

永恆主將話語放在巴蘭口中，又說：『你回到巴勒那裏、要這樣這樣說。』

以撒把雅各叫了來，給他祝福，吩咐他說：『你不要娶迦南的女子為妻。

拉班回答雅各說：『這些女兒是我的女兒；這些孩子是我的孩子，這些羊羣是我的羊羣：其實凡你所看見的、都是我的：對我這些女兒、或是她們所生的孩子們，我今天能作甚麼呢？

兩個兒媳婦又放聲而哭；俄珥巴和婆婆親嘴而別，路得卻緊跟着婆婆。

人的烈怒終必稱讚你；你必用人的餘怒去束腰。

上帝沒有咒詛的、我哪能咒詛呢？永恆主沒有怒罵的、我哪能怒罵呢？
