耶和華與亞伯拉罕說完了話就走了；亞伯拉罕也回到自己的地方去了。

拉結生約瑟之後，雅各對拉班說：「請打發我走，叫我回到我本鄉本土去。

然而耶和華－你的神不肯聽從巴蘭，卻使那咒詛的言語變為祝福的話，因為耶和華－你的神愛你。

人所行的，若蒙耶和華喜悅，耶和華也使他的仇敵與他和好。

於是巴蘭起來，回他本地去；巴勒也回去了。

土人看見那毒蛇懸在他手上，就彼此說：「這人必是個兇手，雖然從海裏救上來，天理還不容他活着。」保羅竟把那毒蛇甩在火裏，並沒有受傷。

耶和華將話傳給巴蘭，又說：「你回到巴勒那裏，要如此如此說。」

以撒叫了雅各來，給他祝福，並囑咐他說：「你不要娶迦南的女子為妻。

拉班回答雅各說：「這女兒是我的女兒，這些孩子是我的孩子，這些羊羣也是我的羊羣；凡在你眼前的都是我的。我的女兒並她們所生的孩子，我今日能向他們做甚麼呢？

兩個兒婦又放聲而哭，俄珥巴與婆婆親嘴而別，只是路得捨不得拿俄米。

人的忿怒要成全你的榮美；人的餘怒，你要禁止。

神沒有咒詛的，我焉能咒詛？耶和華沒有怒罵的，我焉能怒罵？
