耶和華與亞伯拉罕說完了話，就走了；亞伯拉罕也回到自己的地方去了。

拉結生了約瑟以後，雅各對拉班說：“請你讓我走吧，我好回到自己的地方，自己的故鄉去。

他們給利百加祝福，對她說：“我們的妹妹啊，願你作千萬人之母；願你的後裔，佔領仇敵的城門。”

耶和華要為自己的子民伸冤，為自己的僕人難過，因為耶和華看見他們的能力已經消逝，為奴的或自由的都沒有剩下一人。

但耶和華你的神不願聽從巴蘭；耶和華你的神使咒詛的話變為你的祝福，因為耶和華你的神愛你。

人所行的，若是蒙耶和華喜悅，耶和華也使他的仇敵與他和好。

以掃跑來迎接他，擁抱他，伏在他頸項上，與他親吻；兩個人都哭了。

於是巴蘭起來，回自己的地方去；巴勒也回去了。

巴勒對巴蘭說：“你向我作的是甚麼事呢？我領你來咒詛我的仇敵，你反倒給他們祝福。”

當地的人看見那條蛇懸在他手上，就彼此說：“這個人一定是兇手，雖然從海裡脫險，天理也不容他活著！”但是保羅卻把那條蛇抖在火裡，自己一點也沒有受傷。

耶和華把話傳給巴蘭，又說：“你要回到巴勒那裡去，要這樣這樣說。”

以撒把雅各叫了來，給他祝福，並且吩咐他，說：“你不可娶迦南的女子為妻。

拉班回答雅各，說：“這些女兒是我的女兒；這些孩子是我的孩子；這些羊群也是我的羊群。其實你眼所見的一切都是我的。但我今日向我的女兒和她們所生的孩子，能作甚麼呢？

她們又放聲大哭。俄耳巴就和婆婆吻別，路得卻捨不得離開拿俄米。

人的忿怒必使你得稱讚，人的餘怒必成為你的裝飾。

神沒有咒詛的，我怎能咒詛呢？耶和華沒有咒罵的，我怎能咒罵呢？
