拉结生了约瑟以后，雅各对拉班说：“请你让我走吧，我好回到自己的地方，自己的故乡去。

耶和华要为自己的子民伸冤，为自己的仆人难过，因为耶和华看见他们的能力已经消逝，为奴的或自由的都没有剩下一人。

但耶和华你的神不愿听从巴兰；耶和华你的神使咒诅的话变为你的祝福，因为耶和华你的神爱你。

人所行的，若是蒙耶和华喜悦，耶和华也使他的仇敌与他和好。

以扫跑来迎接他，拥抱他，伏在他颈项上，与他亲吻；两个人都哭了。

于是巴兰起来，回自己的地方去；巴勒也回去了。

巴勒对巴兰说：“你向我作的是什么事呢？我领你来咒诅我的仇敌，你反倒给他们祝福。”

当地的人看见那条蛇悬在他手上，就彼此说：“这个人一定是凶手，虽然从海里脱险，天理也不容他活着！”但是保罗却把那条蛇抖在火里，自己一点也没有受伤。

耶和华把话传给巴兰，又说：“你要回到巴勒那里去，要这样这样说。”

以撒把雅各叫了来，给他祝福，并且吩咐他，说：“你不可娶迦南的女子为妻。

拉班回答雅各，说：“这些女儿是我的女儿；这些孩子是我的孩子；这些羊群也是我的羊群。其实你眼所见的一切都是我的。但我今日向我的女儿和她们所生的孩子，能作什么呢？

她们又放声大哭。俄耳巴就和婆婆吻别，路得却舍不得离开拿俄米。

人的忿怒必使你得称赞，人的余怒必成为你的装饰。

神没有咒诅的，我怎能咒诅呢？耶和华没有咒骂的，我怎能咒骂呢？
