Nahor lived 29 years and fathered Terah.After he fathered Terah, Nahor lived 119 years and fathered other sons and daughters.Terah lived 70 years and fathered Abram, Nahor, and Haran.These are the family records of Terah. Terah fathered Abram, Nahor, and Haran, and Haran fathered Lot.Haran died in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans, during his father Terah’s lifetime.Abram and Nahor took wives: Abram’s wife was named Sarai, and Nahor’s wife was named Milcah. She was the daughter of Haran, the father of both Milcah and Iscah.

and I will have you swear by the LORD, God of heaven and God of earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I live,but will go to my land and my family to take a wife for my son Isaac.”

Fear the LORD your God, worship him, and take your oaths in his name.

Swear to me by God here and now, that you will not break an agreement with me or with my children and descendants. As I have been loyal to you, so you will be loyal to me and to the country where you are a resident alien.”And Abraham said,“ I swear it.”

Now after these things Abraham was told,“ Milcah also has borne sons to your brother Nahor:Uz his firstborn, his brother Buz, Kemuel the father of Aram,Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.”And Bethuel fathered Rebekah. Milcah bore these eight to Nahor, Abraham’s brother.His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.

They replied,“ We have clearly seen how the LORD has been with you. We think there should be an oath between two parties— between us and you. Let us make a covenant with you:You will not harm us, just as we have not harmed you but have done only what was good to you, sending you away in peace. You are now blessed by the LORD.”So he prepared a banquet for them, and they ate and drank.They got up early in the morning and swore an oath to each other. Isaac sent them on their way, and they left him in peace.

The LORD was standing there beside him, saying,“ I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your offspring the land on which you are lying.

Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot( Haran’s son), and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram’s wife, and they set out together from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they settled there.

But Abram said to the king of Sodom,“ I have raised my hand in an oath to the LORD, God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth,

I will confirm my covenant that is between me and you and your future offspring throughout their generations. It is a permanent covenant to be your God and the God of your offspring after you.
