Then he said to his relatives,“ Gather stones.” So they brought stones and put them in a pile. They ate there by the pile of stones.

又对众弟兄说：“你们堆聚石头。”他们就拿石头来堆成一堆，大家便在旁边吃喝。

对弟兄们说：“大家来堆积石头。”他们拿石头堆成一堆，于是在那里，在石堆旁边吃喝。

亦命戚族積石、眾乃取石、積累為堆、共食其側、

亦謂戚族曰、爾可積石、乃群取石、積累為崗、共食於其上。

又謂諸兄弟曰、爾可聚石、眾乃取石、積累為垤、共食於垤上、

He said to his relatives,“ Gather some stones.” So they took stones and piled them in a heap, and they ate there by the heap.

And Jacob said to his kinsmen,“ Gather stones.” And they took stones and made a heap, and they ate there by the heap.

Then he told his family members,“ Gather some stones.” So they gathered stones and piled them in a heap. Then Jacob and Laban sat down beside the pile of stones to eat a covenant meal.

Then Jacob said to his relatives,“ Gather stones.” And they took stones and made a mound, then ate there by the mound.

When you searched through all my goods, did you find anything that belonged to you? Set it here before my relatives and yours, and let them settle the dispute between the two of us!

Now Joshua set up in Gilgal the twelve stones they had taken from the Jordan.He told the Israelites,“ When your children someday ask their fathers,‘ What do these stones represent?’explain to your children,‘ Israel crossed the Jordan River on dry ground.’For the LORD your God dried up the water of the Jordan before you while you crossed over. It was just like when the LORD your God dried up the Red Sea before us while we crossed it.He has done this so all the nations of the earth might recognize the LORD’s power and so you might always obey the LORD your God.”

A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

Whoever has taken your gods will be put to death! In the presence of our relatives identify whatever is yours and take it.”( Now Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen them.)

Joshua told them,“ Go in front of the ark of the LORD your God to the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to put a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the Israelite tribes.The stones will be a reminder to you. When your children ask someday,‘ Why are these stones important to you?’tell them how the water of the Jordan stopped flowing before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it crossed the Jordan, the water of the Jordan stopped flowing. These stones will be a lasting memorial for the Israelites.”The Israelites did just as Joshua commanded. They picked up twelve stones, according to the number of the Israelite tribes, from the middle of the Jordan as the LORD had instructed Joshua. They carried them over with them to the camp and put them there.Joshua also set up twelve stonesin the middle of the Jordan in the very place where the priests carrying the ark of the covenant stood. They remain there to this very day.

They took Absalom, threw him into a large pit in the forest, and stacked a huge pile of stones over him. In the meantime all the Israelite soldiers fled to their homes.

So he took his relatives with him and pursued Jacob for seven days. He caught up with him in the hill country of Gilead.

Then they erected over him a large pile of stones( it remains to this very day) and the LORD’s anger subsided. So that place is called the Valley of Disaster to this very day.

Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain and invited his relatives to eat the meal. They ate the meal and spent the night on the mountain.
