神藉著夜間的一個夢來到亞比米勒那裡，對他說：「看哪，因你接來的那女人的緣故，你就要死了！她是個有夫之婦！」

拉班和彼土利回應說：「這事出於耶和華，我們不能向你說好說歹。

我手中雖有能力加害於你們，但你父親的神昨夜對我說：『你要小心，不可與雅各說好說歹。』

要不是我父親的神，亞伯拉罕的神，以撒所敬畏的那一位與我同在，你現在一定會打發我空手而去。神看到我的苦情和我手上的辛勞，就在昨夜責備了你。」

而押沙龍無論壞話好話都沒有對暗嫩說。因為暗嫩玷辱了他妹妹塔瑪爾，所以押沙龍恨他。

因為你對我發怒，你的驕奢安逸上達我的耳中，所以我要把鉤子放進你的鼻孔，把嚼環放入你的嘴裡，我必使你從原路返回。

過了整整兩年，法老做了一個夢，夢見自己正站在尼羅河邊。

「在群羊的交配期，我在夢中舉目觀看，看哪，那些與母羊交配的公羊，都是有紋、有點、有花斑的！

他們在夢中得了神的指示不要回到希律那裡去，就從另一條路回到自己的家鄉去了。

於是以撒打發雅各前往巴旦-亞蘭，到亞蘭人彼土利的兒子拉班那裡。拉班是雅各和以掃的母親莉百加的哥哥。

彼拉多正坐在審判席上，他的妻子派人到他那裡說：「這義人的事，你什麼也不要管。要知道，我今天因他的緣故，在夢中受了很多苦。」

約瑟思考這些事以後，忽然主的一位天使在約瑟夢中顯現，說：「大衛的後裔約瑟，不要怕迎娶瑪麗亞做你的妻子，因為她裡面所懷的是由聖靈而來的。

他不容任何人欺壓他們，還為他們的緣故責備君王：「你們不可碰我的受膏者，不可惡待我的先知。」

他們兩人，就是被囚在監獄裡的埃及王的司酒長和司膳長，在同一夜都做了夢，各有各的夢，各夢各有其解。
