神藉着夜间的一个梦来到亚比米勒那里，对他说：“看哪，因你接来的那女人的缘故，你就要死了！她是个有夫之妇！”

拉班和彼土利回应说：“这事出于耶和华，我们不能向你说好说歹。

我手中虽有能力加害于你们，但你父亲的神昨夜对我说：‘你要小心，不可与雅各说好说歹。’

要不是我父亲的神，亚伯拉罕的神，以撒所敬畏的那一位与我同在，你现在一定会打发我空手而去。神看到我的苦情和我手上的辛劳，就在昨夜责备了你。”

因为你对我发怒，你的骄奢安逸上达我的耳中，所以我要把钩子放进你的鼻孔，把嚼环放入你的嘴里，我必使你从原路返回。

过了整整两年，法老做了一个梦，梦见自己正站在尼罗河边。

“在群羊的交配期，我在梦中举目观看，看哪，那些与母羊交配的公羊，都是有纹、有点、有花斑的！

他们在梦中得了神的指示不要回到希律那里去，就从另一条路回到自己的家乡去了。

于是以撒打发雅各前往巴旦-亚兰，到亚兰人彼土利的儿子拉班那里。拉班是雅各和以扫的母亲莉白加的哥哥。

彼拉多正坐在审判席上，他的妻子派人到他那里说：“这义人的事，你什么也不要管。要知道，我今天因他的缘故，在梦中受了很多苦。”

约瑟思考这些事以后，忽然主的一位天使在约瑟梦中显现，说：“大卫的后裔约瑟，不要怕迎娶玛丽亚做你的妻子，因为她里面所怀的是由圣灵而来的。

他不容任何人欺压他们，还为他们的缘故责备君王：“你们不可碰我的受膏者，不可恶待我的先知。”

他们两人，就是被囚在监狱里的埃及王的司酒长和司膳长，在同一夜都做了梦，各有各的梦，各梦各有其解。
