Then in my dream, the angel of God said to me,‘ Jacob!’ And I replied,‘ Yes, here I am.’

In that dream the angel of God said to me,‘ Jacob!’ and I said,‘ Here I am.’

Then the angel of God said to me in the dream,‘ Jacob’; and I said,‘ Here I am.’

Then the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying,‘ Jacob.’ And I said,‘ Here I am.’

And the angel of God said unto me in the dream, Jacob: and I said, Here am I.

In that dream the Angel of God said to me,‘ Jacob!’ and I said,‘ Here I am.’

And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream,[ saying], Jacob: And I said, Here[ am] I.

In the dream the angel of God said to me,‘ Jacob!’‘ Here I am!’ I replied.

The angel of God said to me in the dream,‘ Jacob,’ and I said,‘ Here I am.’

I am the God who appeared to you at Bethel, the place where you anointed the pillar of stone and made your vow to me. Now get ready and leave this country and return to the land of your birth.’”

Then when you call, the Lord will answer.‘ Yes, I am here,’ he will quickly reply.“ Remove the heavy yoke of oppression. Stop pointing your finger and spreading vicious rumors!

He said to them,“ I have noticed that your father’s attitude toward me has changed. But the God of my father has been with me.

Then the Lord called out again,“ Samuel!” Again Samuel got up and went to Eli.“ Here I am. Did you call me?”“ I didn’t call you, my son,” Eli said.“ Go back to bed.”

But Eli called out to him,“ Samuel, my son.”“ Here I am,” Samuel replied.

The angel of the Lord found Hagar beside a spring of water in the wilderness, along the road to Shur.The angel said to her,“ Hagar, Sarai’s servant, where have you come from, and where are you going?”“ I’m running away from my mistress, Sarai,” she replied.The angel of the Lord said to her,“ Return to your mistress, and submit to her authority.”Then he added,“ I will give you more descendants than you can count.”And the angel also said,“ You are now pregnant and will give birth to a son. You are to name him Ishmael( which means‘ God hears’), for the Lord has heard your cry of distress.This son of yours will be a wild man, as untamed as a wild donkey! He will raise his fist against everyone, and everyone will be against him. Yes, he will live in open hostility against all his relatives.”Thereafter, Hagar used another name to refer to the Lord, who had spoken to her. She said,“ You are the God who sees me.” She also said,“ Have I truly seen the One who sees me?”

Then he blessed Joseph and said,“ May the God before whom my grandfather Abraham and my father, Isaac, walked— the God who has been my shepherd all my life, to this very day,the Angel who has redeemed me from all harm— may he bless these boys. May they preserve my name and the names of Abraham and Isaac. And may their descendants multiply greatly throughout the earth.”

Some time later, God tested Abraham’s faith.“ Abraham!” God called.“ Yes,” he replied.“ Here I am.”

So the Lord called a third time, and once more Samuel got up and went to Eli.“ Here I am. Did you call me?” Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy.

The Lord appeared again to Abraham near the oak grove belonging to Mamre. One day Abraham was sitting at the entrance to his tent during the hottest part of the day.

Suddenly the Lord called out,“ Samuel!”“ Yes?” Samuel replied.“ What is it?”

“ Should I hide my plan from Abraham?” the Lord asked.

When the Lord saw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush,“ Moses! Moses!”“ Here I am!” Moses replied.
