Then Jacob became furious with Rachel.“ Am I God?” he asked.“ He’s the one who has kept you from having children!”

Jacob became angry with her and said,“ Am I in the place of God, who has kept you from having children?”

Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel, and he said,“ Am I in the place of God, who has withheld from you the fruit of the womb?”

And Jacob’s anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God’s stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?

Jacob became furious with Rachel and exclaimed,“ Am I in the place of God, who has kept you from having children?”

So Sarai said to Abram,“ The Lord has prevented me from having children. Go and sleep with my servant. Perhaps I can have children through her.” And Abram agreed with Sarai’s proposal.

And though he loved Hannah, he would give her only one choice portion because the Lord had given her no children.

When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes in dismay and said,“ Am I God, that I can give life and take it away? Why is this man asking me to heal someone with leprosy? I can see that he’s just trying to pick a fight with me.”

When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, he enabled her to have children, but Rachel could not conceive.

But Joseph replied,“ Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you?

When they came near the camp, Moses saw the calf and the dancing, and he burned with anger. He threw the stone tablets to the ground, smashing them at the foot of the mountain.

Then Jacob became very angry, and he challenged Laban.“ What’s my crime?” he demanded.“ What have I done wrong to make you chase after me as though I were a criminal?

Those who were well fed are now starving, and those who were starving are now full. The childless woman now has seven children, and the woman with many children wastes away.The Lord gives both death and life; he brings some down to the grave but raises others up.

But I say, if you are even angry with someone, you are subject to judgment! If you call someone an idiot, you are in danger of being brought before the court. And if you curse someone, you are in danger of the fires of hell.

He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother. Praise the Lord!

For the Lord had caused all the women to be infertile because of what happened with Abraham’s wife, Sarah.

He will love you and bless you, and he will give you many children. He will give fertility to your land and your animals. When you arrive in the land he swore to give your ancestors, you will have large harvests of grain, new wine, and olive oil, and great herds of cattle, sheep, and goats.You will be blessed above all the nations of the earth. None of your men or women will be childless, and all your livestock will bear young.

And“ don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.

Isaac pleaded with the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was unable to have children. The Lord answered Isaac’s prayer, and Rebekah became pregnant with twins.
