耶和華說：「人豈能在隱密處藏身，使我看不見他呢？」耶和華說：「我豈不充滿天地嗎？

耶和華啊，你已經鑒察我，認識我。我坐下，我起來，你都曉得；你從遠處知道我的意念。我行路，我躺臥，你都細察；你也深知我一切所行的。耶和華啊，我舌頭上的話，你沒有一句不知道的。你在我前後環繞我，按手在我身上。這樣的知識奇妙，是我不能測的，至高，是我不能及的。我往哪裏去躲避你的靈？我往哪裏逃、躲避你的面？我若升到天上，你在那裏；我若在陰間下榻，你也在那裏。我若展開清晨的翅膀，飛到海極居住，就是在那裏，你的手必引導我；你的右手也必扶持我。我若說：黑暗必定遮蔽我，我周圍的亮光必成為黑夜；黑暗也不能遮蔽我，使你不見，黑夜卻如白晝發亮。黑暗和光明，在你看都是一樣。

並且被造的沒有一樣在他面前不顯然的；原來萬物在那與我們有關係的主眼前，都是赤露敞開的。

我若像亞當遮掩我的過犯，將罪孽藏在懷中；

約拿卻起來，逃往他施去躲避耶和華；下到約帕，遇見一隻船，要往他施去。他就給了船價，上了船，要與船上的人同往他施去躲避耶和華。

神注目觀看人的道路，看明人的腳步。沒有黑暗、陰翳能給作孽的藏身。

耶和華的眼目無處不在；惡人善人，他都鑒察。

他說：「我是希伯來人。我敬畏耶和華－那創造滄海旱地之天上的神。」他們就大大懼怕，對他說：「你做的是甚麼事呢？」他們已經知道他躲避耶和華，因為他告訴了他們。

這是顯出律法的功用刻在他們心裏，他們是非之心同作見證，並且他們的思念互相較量，或以為是，或以為非。）

他們雖然挖透陰間，我的手必取出他們來；雖然爬上天去，我必拿下他們來；雖然藏在迦密山頂，我必搜尋，捉出他們來；雖然從我眼前藏在海底，我必命蛇咬他們；

那時，耶和華從旋風中回答約伯說：

因為耶和華－你的神常在你營中行走，要救護你，將仇敵交給你，所以你的營理當聖潔，免得他見你那裏有污穢，就離開你。」

他說：「我在園中聽見你的聲音，我就害怕；因為我赤身露體，我便藏了。」

現在這大火將要燒滅我們，我們何必冒死呢？若再聽見耶和華－我們神的聲音就必死亡。

密雲將他遮蓋，使他不能看見；他周遊穹蒼。
