The Lord God said,“ Just like one of us, the man can now tell the difference between good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out and pick fruit from the tree of life and eat it. If he does, he will live forever.”

耶和华神说：“那人已经与我们相似，能知道善恶；现在恐怕他伸手又摘生命树的果子吃，就永远活着。”

耶和华上帝说：“看哪，那人已经像我们中间的一个，知道善恶，现在恐怕他又伸手摘生命树所出的来吃，就永远活着。”

耶和华上帝说：“看啊，那人已经与我们相似，能分辨善恶。现在，恐怕他会伸手去摘生命树的果子吃，那样他就会永远活着。”

And the Lord God said,“ The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

Then the Lord God said,“ Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—”

Then the Lord God said,“ Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!”

The LORD God said,“ Since the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil, he must not reach out, take from the tree of life, eat, and live forever.”

Then the Lord God said,“ Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, he might reach out with his hand, and take fruit also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”—

Then the Lord God said,“ Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”—

And Jehovah God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil; and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever—

The Lord God said,“ Since man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil, he must not reach out, take from the tree of life, eat, and live forever.”

And the LORD God said,“ Now that the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil, he must not be allowed to stretch out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

Yahweh God said,“ Behold, the man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand, and also take of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever—”

‘ Whoever has ears should listen to what the Holy Spirit says to the churches. Here is what I will do for anyone who has victory over sin. I will let that person eat from the tree of life in God’s paradise.’

The Lord God made every kind of tree grow out of the ground. The trees were pleasing to look at. Their fruit was good to eat. There were two trees in the middle of the garden. One of them had fruit that let people live forever. The other had fruit that let people tell the difference between good and evil.

Then God said,“ Let us make human beings so that they are like us. Let them rule over the fish in the seas and the birds in the sky. Let them rule over the livestock and all the wild animals. And let them rule over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her. Those who hold her close will be blessed.

“ God knows that when you eat fruit from that tree, you will know things you have never known before. Like God, you will be able to tell the difference between good and evil.”

He said,“ All these people are united and speak the same language. That is why they can do all this. Now they will be able to do anything they plan.Come on! Let us go down and mix up their language. Then they will not be able to understand one another.”

“ Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will have the right to come to the tree of life. They will be allowed to go through the gates into the city.

I am the bread of life.Long ago your people ate the manna in the desert, and they still died.But here is the bread that comes down from heaven. A person can eat it and not die.I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Everyone who eats some of this bread will live forever. This bread is my body. I will give it for the life of the world.”Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves. They said,“ How can this man give us his body to eat?”Jesus said to them,“ What I’m about to tell you is true. You must eat the Son of Man’s body and drink his blood. If you don’t, you have no life in you.Anyone who eats my body and drinks my blood has eternal life. I will raise them up on the last day.My body is real food. My blood is real drink.Anyone who eats my body and drinks my blood remains in me. And I remain in them.The living Father sent me, and I live because of him. In the same way, those who feed on me will live because of me.This is the bread that came down from heaven. Long ago your people ate manna and died. But whoever eats this bread will live forever.”

It flowed down the middle of the city’s main street. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing 12 crops of fruit. Its fruit was ripe every month. The leaves of the tree bring healing to the nations.

Those who are poor will eat and be satisfied. Those who seek the Lord will praise him. May their hearts be filled with new hope!
