By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

You will have to work hard and sweat a lot to produce the food you eat. You were made out of the ground. You will return to it when you die. You are dust, and you will return to dust.”

塵土仍歸於地，像原來一樣，氣息仍歸於賜氣息的上帝。

你轉臉，牠們就驚惶；你收回牠們的氣，牠們就死亡，歸於塵土。

凡血肉之軀必一同死亡；世人必歸於塵土。

你使人歸於塵土，說：「世人哪，你們要歸回。」

耶和華上帝用地上的塵土造人，將生命之氣吹進他的鼻孔，這人就成了有靈的活人。

都歸一處，都是出於塵土，也都歸於塵土。

我們在你們那裏的時候曾吩咐你們，說若有人不肯做工，就不可吃飯。

偷竊的，不要再偷；總要勤勞，親手做正當的事，這樣才可以把自己有的，分給有缺乏的人。

他怎樣從母胎赤身而來，也必照樣赤身而去；他所勞碌得來的，手中分毫不能帶去。

人一切的勞碌，就是他在日光之下的勞碌，有甚麼益處呢？

「我在你們中間是外人，是寄居的。請給我你們那裏的一塊墳地，我好埋葬我的亡妻，使她不在我的面前。」

我用智慧專心探尋、考察天下所發生的一切事：上帝給世人何等沉重的擔子，使他們在其中勞苦！

因為他知道我們的本體，思念我們不過是塵土。

人偏離智慧的路，必與陰魂為伍。

既然死是因一人而來，死人復活也因一人而來。在亞當裏眾人都死了；同樣，在基督裏眾人也都要復活。

弟兄們，你們記念我們的辛苦勞碌，晝夜做工，傳上帝的福音給你們，免得你們任何人受累。

他們同樣躺臥於塵土，蟲子覆蓋他們。

亞伯拉罕回答說：「看哪，我雖只是塵土灰燼，還敢向主說話。

地上富足的人都必吃喝而敬拜，凡下到塵土中不能存活自己性命的人，都要在他面前下拜；

我若盼望陰間為我的家，若下榻在黑暗中，若對地府呼叫：『你是我的父親』，若對蟲呼叫：『你是我的母親、姊妹』，這樣，我的盼望在哪裏呢？我所盼望的，誰能看見呢？這盼望要下到陰間的門閂嗎？要一起在塵土中安息嗎？」

說：「我赤身出於母胎，也必赤身歸回；賞賜的是耶和華，收取的也是耶和華。耶和華的名是應當稱頌的。」

我的精力枯乾，如同瓦片，我的舌頭緊貼上顎。你將我安置在死灰中。

睡在地裏塵埃中的必有多人醒過來；其中有得永生的，有受羞辱永遠被憎惡的。

我這皮肉滅絕之後，我必在肉體之外得見上帝。

為此，正如罪是從一人進入世界，死又從罪而來，於是死就臨到所有的人，因為人人都犯了罪。沒有律法之前，罪已經在世上，但沒有律法，罪也不算罪。然而，從亞當到摩西，死就掌了權，連那些不與亞當犯一樣罪過的，也在死的權下。亞當是那以後要來之人的預像。但是過犯不如恩賜，若因一人的過犯，眾人都死了，那麼，上帝的恩典，與那因耶穌基督一人而來的恩典中的賞賜，豈不加倍地臨到眾人嗎？因一人犯罪而來的後果，也不如賞賜，原來審判是由一人而定罪，恩賜乃是由許多過犯而稱義。若因一人的過犯，死就因這一人掌權，那些受洪恩又蒙所賜之義的，豈不更要因耶穌基督一人在他們生命中掌權嗎？這樣看來，因一次的過犯，所有的人都被定罪；照樣，因一次的義行，所有的人也就被稱義而得生命了。因一人的悖逆，眾人成為罪人；照樣，因一人的順從，眾人也成為義了。而且加添了律法，使得過犯增加，只是罪在哪裏增加，恩典就在哪裏越發豐盛了。所以，正如罪藉着死掌權；照樣，恩典也藉着義掌權，使人因我們的主耶穌基督得永生。
