By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

You will have to work hard and sweat a lot to produce the food you eat. You were made out of the ground. You will return to it when you die. You are dust, and you will return to dust.”

不然塵土就仍回歸於地，靈就仍回歸於賜靈的上帝了。

你掩面，牠們便惶恐；你收回牠們的氣，牠們就死亡，仍歸於塵土。

血肉之人就都一概氣絕，人就仍歸塵土。

你叫世人回歸塵土，說：『人類啊，要歸回！』

永恆主上帝用地上的塵土塑造了人，將生氣吹進他的鼻孔裏，那人就成了一個有生命的活人。

他們都向着一處走：都是出於塵土，也都回歸塵土。

我們在你們那裏的時候、也屢次囑咐你們說：『人若不肯作工，就不該喫飯。』

偷竊的別再偷竊了；寧可勞苦、親手作正經事，好有敷餘、可分給缺乏的人。

他怎樣出母腹，也必怎樣去世，赤裸裸地去；他勞碌得來的，他手也都不能帶去。

人的一切勞碌、他在日光之下所勞碌的、有甚麼益處？

『我同你們在一起、是寄居寄住的外僑；請給我一塊墳地做產業、和你們在一起，我好埋葬我死了的親人，使她不在我眼前。』

我專心一志用智慧去尋求窺探天下所發生過的一切事，就知道上帝給世人所勞碌的是多麼喫力的勞苦。

因為他知道我們的體質，他記得我們不過是塵土。

迷離了明智道路的人必被安頓於陰魂會中。

死既藉着一人而有，死人之復活就藉着一人而有了。眾人怎樣在亞當裏都死了，眾人也必怎樣在基督裏活過來。

弟兄們，你們記得我們怎樣地辛苦勞碌：我們將上帝的福音宣傳給你們的時候、怎樣黑夜白日地作工，免得加重你們任何人的負擔。

但人人都一樣長臥於塵土中，有蛆蟲覆蓋着他們。

亞伯拉罕回答說：『我雖是塵土爐灰，還敢對主說話。

地上一切肥胖富足的人、必喫喝而敬拜；凡快要下塵土中、不能保活自己性命的、都必在他面前屈身下拜。

假使我盼望陰間做我的房屋，假使我在黑暗中展開我的鋪蓋，假使我對冥坑呼叫說：「你是我父親」，對蛆蟲說：「你是我母親，我姐妹」，那麼、我的指望在哪裏呢？我所指望的、誰能望得見呢？所指望的要同我下到陰間麼？或是我們要一同落於塵土中呢？』

說：『我赤身出母腹，也必赤身歸回；永恆主賞賜，永恆主取去；願永恆主的名受祝頌。』

我的精力枯乾、如同瓦器；我的舌頭貼在牙床上；你放我於死地之塵土中。

長眠在塵土之地裏的必有很多人復醒過來；其中有的必得永生，有的必受羞辱、永被憎惡。

我的皮肉這樣被毁了之後、我還要從我肉身之外瞻仰上帝。

故此、罪怎樣藉着一個人而入了世界，死又藉着罪而入了世界，死也怎樣因萬人都犯了罪而傳遍到萬人。沒有律法之先、罪已經在世界上了；不過沒有律法、罪是不算為罪的。然而從亞當到摩西、連那些不按亞當犯法的樣子去犯罪的人，死也掌了王權去管轄他們。亞當原是後來要到的那位之豫像。但上帝的恩賜是遠超乎人之過犯的；萬眾既因那一人的過犯而死，那麼上帝之恩典、以及在耶穌基督一人恩典中白白之恩、豈不越發加給萬眾麼？上帝的恩賞又是遠超乎一人犯罪之結果的：因為罪案是起於一次的過犯、而有定罪之事；但恩賜呢、雖起於許多次過犯，卻仍有斷為無罪之舉。死既因那一人的過犯、藉那一人而掌王權，那麼那些領受滿溢之恩典和稱義白白之恩的人、豈不更要藉着耶穌基督一人而在生命中掌王權麼？這麼說來，因一人的過犯、萬人怎樣都受定罪；照樣，因一人所行的義、萬人也怎樣都被斷為無罪而得生命。因那一人之不聽從、萬眾也怎樣被認為罪人；照樣，因這一人之聽從、萬眾也怎樣都被認為義人。律法溜了進來，使過犯增多；但罪在哪裏增多，恩典也就在哪裏格外地滿溢；以致罪在死中怎樣掌了王權，恩典也可以藉着救人之義怎樣掌王權，使人藉着我們的主耶穌基督得永生。
