耶和华神对女人说：“我要大大增加你怀胎的痛苦，你必在痛苦中生产儿女；你要恋慕你的丈夫，他却要管辖你。”

神对女人说：“我要大大增加你怀胎的辛苦，你必在痛苦中生孩子。你必恋慕你的丈夫，而他必管辖你。”

又對女人說：我必多多加增你懷胎的苦楚；你生產兒女必多受苦楚。你必戀慕你丈夫；你丈夫必管轄你。

To the woman he said,“ I will make your pains in childbearing very severe; with painful labor you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”

The Lord God said to the woman,“ I will increase your pain when you give birth. You will be in great pain when you have children. You will long for your husband. And he will rule over you.”

To the woman he said,“ I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”

Then he said to the woman,“ I will sharpen the pain of your pregnancy, and in pain you will give birth. And you will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.”

He said to the woman: I will intensify your labor pains; you will bear children with painful effort. Your desire will be for your husband, yet he will rule over you.

To the woman He said,“ I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth, In pain you shall deliver children; Yet your desire will be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”

To the woman He said:“ I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy pain and thy conception; in pain thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

He said to the woman: I will intensify your labor pains; you will bear children in anguish. Your desire will be for your husband, yet he will rule over you.

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire[ shall be] to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

To the woman he said,“ I will greatly increase your labor pains; with pain you will give birth to children. You will want to control your husband, but he will dominate you.”

to be sober minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that God’s word may not be blasphemed.

Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Let the wives be quiet in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to be talking except in submission, as the law also says,

But I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

but she will be saved through her childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and sanctification with sobriety.

Let a woman learn in quietness with full submission.But I don’t permit a woman to teach, nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in quietness.

If you do well, won’t it be lifted up? If you don’t do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire is for you, but you are to rule over it.”

Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord.For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body.But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.

In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word,seeing your pure behavior in fear.Let your beauty be not just the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine clothing;but in the hidden person of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.For this is how in the past, the holy women who hoped in God also adorned themselves, being in subjection to their own husbands.So Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose children you now are, if you do well, and are not put in fear by any terror.

The wife doesn’t have authority over her own body, but the husband. Likewise also the husband doesn’t have authority over his own body, but the wife.

A woman, when she gives birth, has sorrow because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she doesn’t remember the anguish any more, for the joy that a human being is born into the world.

We have heard its report. Our hands become feeble. Anguish has taken hold of us, and pains as of a woman in labor.

Inhabitant of Lebanon, who makes your nest in the cedars, how greatly to be pitied you will be when pangs come on you, the pain as of a woman in travail!

They traveled from Bethel. There was still some distance to come to Ephrath, and Rachel travailed. She had hard labor.When she was in hard labor, the midwife said to her,“ Don’t be afraid, for now you will have another son.”As her soul was departing( for she died), she named him Benoni, but his father named him Benjamin.

Therefore my thighs are filled with anguish. Pains have seized me, like the pains of a woman in labor. I am in so much pain that I can’t hear. I so am dismayed that I can’t see.

What will you say, when he sets over you as head those whom you have yourself taught to be friends to you? Won’t sorrows take hold of you, as of a woman in travail?

His daughter- in- law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, near to giving birth. When she heard the news that God’s ark was taken and that her father- in- law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and gave birth; for her pains came on her.About the time of her death the women who stood by her said to her,“ Don’t be afraid, for you have given birth to a son.” But she didn’t answer, neither did she regard it.She named the child Ichabod, saying,“ The glory has departed from Israel!” because God’s ark was taken, and because of her father- in- law and her husband.

Trembling took hold of them there, pain, as of a woman in travail.

Damascus has grown feeble, she turns herself to flee, and trembling has seized her. Anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her, as of a woman in travail.

Now why do you cry out aloud? Is there no king in you? Has your counselor perished, that pains have taken hold of you as of a woman in travail?Be in pain, and labor to give birth, daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail; for now you will go out of the city, and will dwell in the field, and will come even to Babylon. There you will be rescued. There Yahweh will redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

For when they are saying,“ Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman. Then they will in no way escape.

Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.

and her husband hears it, and says nothing to her in the day that he hears it; then her vows shall stand, and her pledges with which she has bound her soul shall stand.But if her husband forbids her in the day that he hears it, then he makes void her vow which is on her and the rash utterance of her lips, with which she has bound her soul. Yahweh will forgive her.

When the king’s decree which he shall make is published throughout all his kingdom( for it is great), all the wives will give their husbands honor, both great and small.”

Just as a woman with child, who draws near the time of her delivery, is in pain and cries out in her pangs, so we have been before you, Yahweh.We have been with child. We have been in pain. We gave birth, it seems, only to wind. We have not worked any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.

For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, the anguish as of her who gives birth to her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, who gasps for breath, who spreads her hands, saying,“ Woe is me now! For my soul faints before the murderers.”

After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself; and he will bear their iniquities.

They will be dismayed. Pangs and sorrows will seize them. They will be in pain like a woman in labor. They will look in amazement one at another. Their faces will be faces of flame.
