Jacob made love to Rachel also, and his love for Rachel was greater than his love for Leah. And he worked for Laban another seven years.

Jacob slept with Rachel also. He loved Rachel more than he loved Leah. And he worked for Laban for another seven years.

So Jacob went in to Rachel also, and he loved Rachel more than Leah, and served Laban for another seven years.

如此我居爾家、歷二十年、役事於爾者、為爾二女十四年、為爾牲畜六年、爾乃易我值、至於十次。

雅各愛拉結曰、我為季女拉結、願役事爾、七年為期。

雅各為拉結役事七年、因愛之甚、視七年如數日。○

耶和華知利亞不見寵、故賜生育、惟拉結不妊。

惜生命者、反喪之、不惜生命於此世者、保之至永生、

掃羅忌大闢、自謂與其戮之由於己手、寧藉手於非利士人以害之。故謂之曰、爾當為豪傑、緣耶和華而戰、我必以長女米臘妻爾。對曰、我何人斯、我之所出者甚微、我父之家、在以色列族中、其名不顯、豈可為王之壻。屆期、掃羅不以其女米臘妻大闢、乃妻以米何拉人亞得哩。掃羅季女米甲愛大闢或告掃羅、掃羅悅、自謂許妻以女、若設坎阱、使非利士人擊之。告大闢曰、予今必於二女中以其一妻爾。掃羅使僕、私語大闢、曰、王悅爾、其臣僕愛爾、必為王壻。僕如是以告。大闢曰、我素貧乏、為人藐視、為王之壻、豈易易哉、掃羅之僕以大闢言反告。掃羅曰、當告大闢、王不欲受聘、第欲爾斷非利士人之皮一百、以報王仇。掃羅之意欲藉非利士人手以殺大闢。王僕以此言告大闢、大闢喜、欲為王壻、未屆期。即與從者往、殺非利士人二百、攜所斷之皮、俱進於王、欲為王壻。掃羅以其女米甲妻之。

人有二妻、一見愛、一被惡、各育後嗣、而被惡者之子為冢子、

愛父母過於我者、不宜於我也、愛子女過於我者、不宜乎我也、

人就我而不過於愛父母、妻子、兄弟、姊妹、與己生命者、不得為我徒、

一人事二主者、未之有也、或惡此愛彼、或重此輕彼、爾不能事上帝、又事財貨也、

吾主之僕我父告我曰、爾知我妻拉結、惟生二子。

昔雅各、以色列遁於亞蘭、供其服役、以牧群畜、而後有室、

拉結生約瑟後雅各謂拉班曰、請遣我歸、返於故土。我為妻子、役事於爾、乃爾所知、盍以妻子賜我、以遣我歸。

僕告主曰、有、父年老耄耋、生季子、其同母之兄亡矣、其母惟遺此子、父絕愛憐。
