見有井於野、羊羣三、附井而臥、蓋人素由此飲之、井口覆以大石、

There he saw a well in the open country, with three flocks of sheep lying near it because the flocks were watered from that well. The stone over the mouth of the well was large.

法老听见这事，就想杀摩西，但摩西躲避法老，逃往米甸地居住。一日，他在井旁坐下。米甸的祭司有七个女儿；她们来打水，打满了槽，要饮父亲的群羊。

天将晚，众女子出来打水的时候，他便叫骆驼跪在城外的水井那里。

他使我躺卧在青草地上，领我在可安歇的水边。

不要因日头把我晒黑了就轻看我。我同母的弟兄向我发怒，他们使我看守葡萄园；我自己的葡萄园却没有看守。我心所爱的啊，求你告诉我，你在何处牧羊？晌午在何处使羊歇卧？我何必在你同伴的羊群旁边好像蒙着脸的人呢？

不饥不渴，炎热和烈日必不伤害他们；因为怜恤他们的必引导他们，领他们到水泉旁边。

在那里有雅各井；耶稣因走路困乏，就坐在井旁。那时约有午正。

人若喝我所赐的水就永远不渴。我所赐的水要在他里头成为泉源，直涌到永生。”

我现今站在井旁，城内居民的女子们正出来打水。
