There he saw a well in the open country, with three flocks of sheep lying near it because the flocks were watered from that well. The stone over the mouth of the well was large.

法老听说这件事后，便想杀死摩西。摩西为了躲避法老，就逃到米甸居住。一天他坐在一口井旁，米甸祭司的七个女儿来打水，要把水倒进槽里饮她们父亲的羊。

黄昏，妇女们出来打水的时候，他让骆驼跪在城外的井旁，

祂让我安歇在青草地上，领我到幽静的溪水旁。

不要因为我被太阳晒黑就看不起我。这是因为我的兄弟恼恨我，要我在烈日之下看守葡萄园，使我无暇照顾自己。我心爱的人啊，告诉我吧，你在哪里牧羊？中午带羊去哪里歇息？我何必在你同伴的羊群旁流浪，像风尘女子一样呢？

他们不再饥渴，也不再被热风和烈日灼伤，因为怜悯他们的那位必引导他们，领他们到泉水边。

雅各井就在那个地方。耶稣走路疲乏，坐在井旁休息。那时是中午时分，

但是喝了我所赐的活水，永远不会再渴。我所赐的水要在他里面成为生命的泉源，涌流不息，直到永生。”

现在，我站在这泉水旁，城里的少女正出来打水。
