And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;

Then Esau realized that the Canaanite women were displeasing to his father Isaac.

and I will have you swear by the Lord, God of heaven and God of earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I live,

When Esau was 40 years old, he took as his wives Judith daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Basemath daughter of Elon the Hittite.They made life bitter for Isaac and Rebekah.

Isaac summoned Jacob, blessed him, and commanded him:“ Don’t take a wife from the Canaanite women.

When they said,“ Give us a king to judge us,” Samuel considered their demand sinful, so he prayed to the Lord.
