且我立柱石將為上帝殿、上帝所錫我者、十輸其一、獻於上帝。

我所立為柱之石、將為天主室、凡主所賜我者、必十輸其一獻於主、

and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.”

This stone I’ve set up as a sacred stone will be God’s house. And I’ll give you a tenth of everything you give me.”

And this memorial pillar I have set up will become a place for worshiping God, and I will present to God a tenth of everything he gives me.”

It is holy to Yahweh.If a man redeems anything of his tithe, he shall add a fifth part to it.All the tithe of the herds or the flocks, whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to Yahweh.He shall not examine whether it is good or bad, neither shall he exchange it. If he exchanges it at all, then both it and that for which it is exchanged shall be holy. It shall not be redeemed.’”

Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and called there on the name of Yahweh, the Everlasting God.

He left from there to go to the mountain on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to Yahweh and called on Yahweh’s name.

He erected an altar there, and called it El Elohe Israel.

He was afraid, and said,“ How awesome this place is! This is none other than God’s house, and this is the gate of heaven.”

Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he spoke with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink offering on it, and poured oil on it.Jacob called the name of the place where God spoke with him“ Bethel”.
