And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,

Then Jacob made a vow, saying,“ If God will be with me and will watch over me on this journey I am taking and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear

Then Jacob made a promise. He said,“ May God be with me. May he watch over me on this journey I’m taking. May he give me food to eat and clothes to wear.

Then Jacob made a vow, saying,“ If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear,

For thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If the LORD shall bring me again indeed to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

I[ am] the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar,[ and] where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,

And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there.

How he sware unto the LORD,[ and] vowed unto the mighty[ God] of Jacob;

Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God[ one] fourth part of the day; and[ another] fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the LORD their God.Then stood up upon the stairs, of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani,[ and] Chenani, and cried with a loud voice unto the LORD their God.Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah,[ and] Pethahiah, said, Stand up[ and] bless the LORD your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.Thou,[ even] thou,[ art] LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all[ things] that[ are] therein, the seas, and all that[ is] therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.Thou[ art] the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham;And foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Jebusites, and the Girgashites, to give[ it, I say], to his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou[ art] righteous:And didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red sea;And shewedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land: for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them. So didst thou get thee a name, as[ it is] this day.

I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people,

And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy.And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.

I have sworn, and I will perform[ it], that I will keep thy righteous judgments.

I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

And Paul[ after this] tarried[ there] yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn[ his] head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons[ shall be] for the LORD by thy estimation.And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary.And if it[ be] a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels.And if[ it be] from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.And if[ it be] from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation[ shall be] three shekels of silver.And if[ it be] from sixty years old and above; if[ it be] a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.But if he be poorer than thy estimation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to his ability that vowed shall the priest value him.And if[ it be] a beast, whereof men bring an offering unto the LORD, all that[ any man] giveth of such unto the LORD shall be holy.He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: and if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and the exchange thereof shall be holy.And if[ it be] any unclean beast, of which they do not offer a sacrifice unto the LORD, then he shall present the beast before the priest:And the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as thou valuest it,[ who art] the priest, so shall it be.But if he will at all redeem it, then he shall add a fifth[ part] thereof unto thy estimation.And when a man shall sanctify his house[ to be] holy unto the LORD, then the priest shall estimate it, whether it be good or bad: as the priest shall estimate it, so shall it stand.And if he that sanctified it will redeem his house, then he shall add the fifth[ part] of the money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall be his.And if a man shall sanctify unto the LORD[ some part] of a field of his possession, then thy estimation shall be according to the seed thereof: an homer of barley seed[ shall be valued] at fifty shekels of silver.If he sanctify his field from the year of jubile, according to thy estimation it shall stand.But if he sanctify his field after the jubile, then the priest shall reckon unto him the money according to the years that remain, even unto the year of the jubile, and it shall be abated from thy estimation.And if he that sanctified the field will in any wise redeem it, then he shall add the fifth[ part] of the money of thy estimation unto it, and it shall be assured to him.And if he will not redeem the field, or if he have sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed any more.But the field, when it goeth out in the jubile, shall be holy unto the LORD, as a field devoted; the possession thereof shall be the priest’s.And if[ a man] sanctify unto the LORD a field which he hath bought, which[ is] not of the fields of his possession;Then the priest shall reckon unto him the worth of thy estimation,[ even] unto the year of the jubile: and he shall give thine estimation in that day,[ as] a holy thing unto the LORD.In the year of the jubile the field shall return unto him of whom it was bought,[ even] to him to whom the possession of the land[ did belong].And all thy estimations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs shall be the shekel.Only the firstling of the beasts, which should be the LORD’S firstling, no man shall sanctify it; whether[ it be] ox, or sheep: it[ is] the LORD’S.And if[ it be] of an unclean beast, then he shall redeem[ it] according to thine estimation, and shall add a fifth[ part] of it thereto: or if it be not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to thy estimation.Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto the LORD of all that he hath,[ both] of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing[ is] most holy unto the LORD.None devoted, which shall be devoted of men, shall be redeemed;[ but] shall surely be put to death.And all the tithe of the land,[ whether] of the seed of the land,[ or] of the fruit of the tree,[ is] the LORD’S:[ it is] holy unto the LORD.And if a man will at all redeem[ ought] of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth[ part] thereof.And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock,[ even] of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.These[ are] the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.

For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given[ me] the heritage of those that fear thy name.

And the men of Israel were distressed that day: for Saul had adjured the people, saying, Cursed[ be] the man that eateth[ any] food until evening, that I may be avenged on mine enemies. So none of the people tasted[ any] food.

Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter[ any] thing before God: for God[ is] in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice[ is known] by multitude of words.When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for[ he hath] no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed.Better[ is it] that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it[ was] an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?For in the multitude of dreams and many words[ there are] also[ divers] vanities: but fear thou God.

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate[ themselves] to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate[ themselves] unto the LORD:He shall separate[ himself] from wine and strong drink, and shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried.All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk.All the days of the vow of his separation there shall no razor come upon his head: until the days be fulfilled, in the which he separateth[ himself] unto the LORD, he shall be holy,[ and] shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow.All the days that he separateth[ himself] unto the LORD he shall come at no dead body.He shall not make himself unclean for his father, or for his mother, for his brother, or for his sister, when they die: because the consecration of his God[ is] upon his head.All the days of his separation he[ is] holy unto the LORD.And if any man die very suddenly by him, and he hath defiled the head of his consecration; then he shall shave his head in the day of his cleansing, on the seventh day shall he shave it.And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons, to the priest, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:And the priest shall offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, and make an atonement for him, for that he sinned by the dead, and shall hallow his head that same day.And he shall consecrate unto the LORD the days of his separation, and shall bring a lamb of the first year for a trespass offering: but the days that were before shall be lost, because his separation was defiled.And this[ is] the law of the Nazarite, when the days of his separation are fulfilled: he shall be brought unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation:And he shall offer his offering unto the LORD, one he lamb of the first year without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb of the first year without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram without blemish for peace offerings,And a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, and wafers of unleavened bread anointed with oil, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings.And the priest shall bring[ them] before the LORD, and shall offer his sin offering, and his burnt offering:And he shall offer the ram[ for] a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the LORD, with the basket of unleavened bread: the priest shall offer also his meat offering, and his drink offering.And the Nazarite shall shave the head of his separation[ at] the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall take the hair of the head of his separation, and put[ it] in the fire which[ is] under the sacrifice of the peace offerings.And the priest shall take the sodden shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put[ them] upon the hands of the Nazarite, after[ the hair of] his separation is shaven:And the priest shall wave them[ for] a wave offering before the LORD: this[ is] holy for the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder: and after that the Nazarite may drink wine.

And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yea, they shall vow a vow unto the LORD, and perform[ it].

And Jephthah vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou shalt without fail deliver the children of Ammon into mine hands,Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD’S, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.

So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

Thy vows[ are] upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

And, behold, I[ am] with thee, and will keep thee in all[ places] whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done[ that] which I have spoken to thee of.

And Israel vowed a vow unto the LORD, and said, If thou wilt indeed deliver this people into my hand, then I will utterly destroy their cities.And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.

Vow, and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared.

My praise[ shall be] of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
