Then Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I’m sick and tired of these local Hittite women! I would rather die than see Jacob marry one of them.”

利百加对以撒说：“我被这些赫人女子烦死了。如果雅各也像以扫一样娶那些赫人女子为妻，我活着还有什么意思呢？”

利百加对以撒说：“我因为这些赫人女子，连性命都厌恶了。如果雅各也从这地的女子中，娶了像这样的赫人女子为妻，那我活着还有什么意思呢？”

莉白加对以撒说：“因这些赫提的女子，我连活着都厌烦了。如果雅各也从这地的女子中，娶了像这样的赫提女子为妻，我活着还有什么意义呢？”

利百加對以撒說：“我因為這些赫人女子，連性命都厭惡了。如果雅各也從這地的女子中，娶了像這樣的赫人女子為妻，那我活著還有甚麼意思呢？”

利伯加對以撒說：『因了這些赫人女子的緣故、我連活着都厭煩了。倘若雅各娶了此地的女子為妻，像這些赫人的女子一樣，我活着還有甚麼意味呢？』

莉百加對以撒說：「因這些赫提的女子，我連活著都厭煩了。如果雅各也從這地的女子中，娶了像這樣的赫提女子為妻，我活著還有什麼意義呢？」

利百加謂以撒曰、緣赫人女、我厭厥生、倘雅各亦娶赫族如此之女、我生何益之有、

利百加謂以撒曰、因以掃娶赫人女、我畢生殷憂、倘雅各亦娶斯土之女、我何以生為。

利百加謂以撒曰、我因赫族之女、厭我生命、倘雅各亦娶此地赫族如斯之女為妻、我尚生存何益哉、

Then Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I’m disgusted with living because of these Hittite women. If Jacob takes a wife from among the women of this land, from Hittite women like these, my life will not be worth living.”

Then Rebekah spoke to Isaac. She said,“ I’m sick of living because of Esau’s Hittite wives. Suppose Jacob also marries a Hittite woman. If he does, my life won’t be worth living.”

Then Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I loathe my life because of the Hittite women. If Jacob marries one of the Hittite women like these, one of the women of the land, what good will my life be to me?”

So Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I’m sick of my life because of these Hethite girls. If Jacob marries someone from around here, like these Hethite girls, what good is my life?”

And Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I am tired of living because of the daughters of Heth; if Jacob takes a wife from the daughters of Heth like these from the daughters of the land, what good will my life be to me?”

And Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth; if Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, like these who are the daughters of the land, what good will my life be to me?”

And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these, of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?

So Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I’m sick of my life because of these Hittite women. If Jacob marries a Hittite woman like one of them, what good is my life?”

And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these[ which are] of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?

Then Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I am deeply depressed because of these daughters of Heth. If Jacob were to marry one of these daughters of Heth who live in this land, I would want to die!”

Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth. If Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these, of the daughters of the land, what good will my life do me?”

At the age of forty, Esau married two Hittite wives: Judith, the daughter of Beeri, and Basemath, the daughter of Elon.But Esau’s wives made life miserable for Isaac and Rebekah.

Swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and earth, that you will not allow my son to marry one of these local Canaanite women.

It was now very clear to Esau that his father did not like the local Canaanite women.

“ I wish you would hide me in the grave and forget me there until your anger has passed. But mark your calendar to think of me again!

I hate my life and don’t want to go on living. Oh, leave me alone for my few remaining days.

Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die.“ I have had enough, Lord,” he said.“ Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”

One day Dinah, the daughter of Jacob and Leah, went to visit some of the young women who lived in the area.But when the local prince, Shechem son of Hamor the Hivite, saw Dinah, he seized her and raped her.

If this is how you intend to treat me, just go ahead and kill me. Do me a favor and spare me this misery!”

“ Oh, why give light to those in misery, and life to those who are bitter?They long for death, and it won’t come. They search for death more eagerly than for hidden treasure.They’re filled with joy when they finally die, and rejoice when they find the grave.

Just kill me now, Lord! I’d rather be dead than alive if what I predicted will not happen.”

Then God said to Jonah,“ Is it right for you to be angry because the plant died?”“ Yes,” Jonah retorted,“ even angry enough to die!”
