Then Rebekah spoke to Isaac. She said,“ I’m sick of living because of Esau’s Hittite wives. Suppose Jacob also marries a Hittite woman. If he does, my life won’t be worth living.”

利百加对以撒说：“我因为这些赫人女子，连性命都厌恶了。如果雅各也从这地的女子中，娶了像这样的赫人女子为妻，那我活着还有什么意思呢？”

莉白加对以撒说：“因这些赫提的女子，我连活着都厌烦了。如果雅各也从这地的女子中，娶了像这样的赫提女子为妻，我活着还有什么意义呢？”

利百加對以撒說：“我因為這些赫人女子，連性命都厭惡了。如果雅各也從這地的女子中，娶了像這樣的赫人女子為妻，那我活著還有甚麼意思呢？”

利伯加對以撒說：『因了這些赫人女子的緣故、我連活着都厭煩了。倘若雅各娶了此地的女子為妻，像這些赫人的女子一樣，我活着還有甚麼意味呢？』

莉百加對以撒說：「因這些赫提的女子，我連活著都厭煩了。如果雅各也從這地的女子中，娶了像這樣的赫提女子為妻，我活著還有什麼意義呢？」

利百加謂以撒曰、緣赫人女、我厭厥生、倘雅各亦娶赫族如此之女、我生何益之有、

利百加謂以撒曰、因以掃娶赫人女、我畢生殷憂、倘雅各亦娶斯土之女、我何以生為。

利百加謂以撒曰、我因赫族之女、厭我生命、倘雅各亦娶此地赫族如斯之女為妻、我尚生存何益哉、

Then Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I’m disgusted with living because of these Hittite women. If Jacob takes a wife from among the women of this land, from Hittite women like these, my life will not be worth living.”

Then Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I loathe my life because of the Hittite women. If Jacob marries one of the Hittite women like these, one of the women of the land, what good will my life be to me?”

Then Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I’m sick and tired of these local Hittite women! I would rather die than see Jacob marry one of them.”

So Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I’m sick of my life because of these Hethite girls. If Jacob marries someone from around here, like these Hethite girls, what good is my life?”

And Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I am tired of living because of the daughters of Heth; if Jacob takes a wife from the daughters of Heth like these from the daughters of the land, what good will my life be to me?”

And Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth; if Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, like these who are the daughters of the land, what good will my life be to me?”

And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these, of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?

So Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I’m sick of my life because of these Hittite women. If Jacob marries a Hittite woman like one of them, what good is my life?”

And Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth: if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these[ which are] of the daughters of the land, what good shall my life do me?

Then Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I am deeply depressed because of these daughters of Heth. If Jacob were to marry one of these daughters of Heth who live in this land, I would want to die!”

Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth. If Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these, of the daughters of the land, what good will my life do me?”

When Esau was 40 years old, he got married to Judith. She was the daughter of Beeri the Hittite. Esau also married Basemath. She was the daughter of Elon the Hittite.Isaac and Rebekah became very upset because Esau had married Hittite women.

The Lord is the God of heaven and the God of earth. I want you to make a promise to me in his name. I’m living among the people of Canaan. But I want you to promise me that you won’t get a wife for my son from their daughters.

Then Esau realized how much his father Isaac disliked Canaanite women.

“ I wish you would hide me in a grave! I wish you would cover me up until your anger passes by! I wish you would set the time for me to spend in the grave and then bring me back up!

I hate my life. I don’t want to live forever. Leave me alone. My days don’t mean anything to me.

Then he traveled for one day into the desert. He came to a small bush. He sat down under it. He prayed that he would die.“ Lord, I’ve had enough,” he said.“ Take my life. I’m no better than my people of long ago.”

Dinah was the daughter Leah had by Jacob. Dinah went out to visit the women of the land.Hamor, the Hivite, was the ruler of that area. When his son Shechem saw Dinah, he took her and raped her.

Is this how you are going to treat me? If you are pleased with me, just put me to death right now. Don’t let me live if I have to see myself destroyed anyway.”

“ Why should those who suffer ever be born? Why should life be given to those whose spirits are bitter?Why is life given to those who long for death that doesn’t come? Why is it given to those who would rather search for death than for hidden treasure?Why is life given to those who are actually happy and glad when they reach the grave?

Lord, take away my life. I’d rather die than live.”

But God spoke to Jonah. God said,“ Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”“ It is,” Jonah said.“ In fact, I’m so angry I wish I were dead.”
