等到你哥哥對你的怒氣轉消了，忘記你對他所做的事，那時我就會派人把你從那裡接回來。我為什麼在一天之內要喪失你們兩個呢？」

其氣已平、忘爾所為、我則遣人召爾、奚為一日喪二子乎、

迨爾兄之怒已息、忘爾所行之事、我則遣人召爾歸、豈可一日喪爾二人乎、

When your brother is no longer angry with you and forgets what you did to him, I’ll send word for you to come back from there. Why should I lose both of you in one day?”

嗐！你們有話說：「今天明天我們要往某城裏去，在那裏住一年，做買賣得利。」其實明天如何，你們還不知道。你們的生命是甚麼呢？你們原來是一片雲霧，出現少時就不見了。你們只當說：「主若願意，我們就可以活着，也可以做這事，或做那事。」

土人看見那毒蛇懸在他手上，就彼此說：「這人必是個兇手，雖然從海裏救上來，天理還不容他活着。」

我有兩個兒子，一日在田間爭鬥，沒有人解勸，這個就打死那個。現在全家的人都起來攻擊婢女，說：『你將那打死兄弟的交出來，我們好治死他，償他打死兄弟的命，滅絕那承受家業的。』這樣，他們要將我剩下的炭火滅盡，不與我丈夫留名留後在世上。」

流你們血、害你們命的，無論是獸是人，我必討他的罪，就是向各人的弟兄也是如此。凡流人血的，他的血也必被人所流，因為神造人是照自己的形像造的。

以撒說：「你兄弟已經用詭計來將你的福分奪去了。」

人心多有計謀；惟有耶和華的籌算才能立定。

除非主命定，誰能說成就成呢？

該隱與他兄弟亞伯說話；二人正在田間。該隱起來打他兄弟亞伯，把他殺了。耶和華對該隱說：「你兄弟亞伯在哪裏？」他說：「我不知道！我豈是看守我兄弟的嗎？」耶和華說：「你做了甚麼事呢？你兄弟的血有聲音從地裏向我哀告。地開了口，從你手裏接受你兄弟的血。現在你必從這地受咒詛。你種地，地不再給你效力；你必流離飄蕩在地上。」該隱對耶和華說：「我的刑罰太重，過於我所能當的。你如今趕逐我離開這地，以致不見你面；我必流離飄蕩在地上，凡遇見我的必殺我。」耶和華對他說：「凡殺該隱的，必遭報七倍。」耶和華就給該隱立一個記號，免得人遇見他就殺他。於是該隱離開耶和華的面，去住在伊甸東邊挪得之地。
