其氣已平、忘爾所為、我則遣人召爾、奚為一日喪二子乎、

When your brother is no longer angry with you and forgets what you did to him, I’ll send word for you to come back from there. Why should I lose both of you in one day?”

你们有些人说：“今天或是明天，我们要往某某城去，在那里逗留一年半载，做生意赚钱。”其实你们根本不知道明天会发生什么事。你们的生命是什么呢？你们只不过像一阵雾气，出现片刻，就无影无踪了。你们只当说：“如果主许可，我们就可以活着，可以做这事或做那事。”

那里的居民看见毒蛇吊在保罗手上，就交头接耳地说：“这人一定是个凶手，虽然侥幸没有淹死，天理却不容他活下去。”

我本来有两个儿子，有一次他们在田间发生争执，当时没有人劝解，其中一个儿子被打死了。现在整个家族都起来反对婢女，说，‘把那打死亲兄弟的凶手交出来，我们要他以命偿命，除掉这个继承人。’他们要断了我家的香火，使婢女的丈夫既不能留名，也不能留后。”

凡是杀人害命的，无论人或兽，我必向他们追讨血债。凡杀人的，我必追讨他的血债。凡杀害人的，也必被人杀害，因为人是上帝照着自己的形象造的。

以撒说：“你弟弟已经用诡计把你的福分夺去了。”

人心中有许多计划，唯耶和华的旨意成就。

若非主许可，谁的话可以兑现呢？

该隐对弟弟亚伯说：“我们去田间吧！”他们在田间的时候，该隐动手打亚伯，把他杀了。后来，耶和华问该隐：“你弟弟亚伯在哪里？”他说：“我不知道！难道我是弟弟的看护人吗？”耶和华说：“你做了什么事？你弟弟的血从地里向我哭诉。地张开口从你手上接受了你弟弟的血，你在地上必受咒诅。你种地，地却不会再为你长出任何东西，你必在地上四处漂泊。”该隐对耶和华说：“这惩罚太重！我承受不了。今天你把我赶出去，使我不能再见你的面。我在地上四处漂泊，见到我的人都会杀我。”耶和华对他说：“不会的，因为凡杀你的，必遭受七倍的报应。”于是，耶和华在该隐身上留下一个记号，免得见到他的人杀他。该隐离开耶和华，来到伊甸东边的挪得住下来。
