Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing his father had given him. He said to himself,“ The days of mourning for my father are near; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

Esau was angry with Jacob. He was angry because of the blessing his father had given to Jacob. He said to himself,“ The days of sorrow over my father’s death are near. Then I’ll kill my brother Jacob.”

Now Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him, and Esau said to himself,“ The days of mourning for my father are approaching; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

From that time on, Esau hated Jacob because their father had given Jacob the blessing. And Esau began to scheme:“ I will soon be mourning my father’s death. Then I will kill my brother, Jacob.”

Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing his father had given him. And Esau determined in his heart,“ The days of mourning for my father are approaching; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

So Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him; and Esau said to himself,“ The days of mourning for my father are near; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart,“ The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.

諸兄見父愛約瑟過於己、故憾之、不以善言相加。○

釁尸四旬既畢、埃及人哭之七旬。哭期既竟約瑟告於法老之臣曰、若蒙汝恩、請爾為我求法老、曰、

中心頑嚚、恆謀不軌、使人爭競、

諸兄曰、爾果將統轄我乎、抑治理我乎、故因其夢與言而益憾。

其人反告曰、吾儕至彼、見爾兄以掃、將率四百人來迎爾。

毋急怒、毋蓄怨、斯愚人所為。

以食物論潔者食之、無不潔、不信不潔者食之、無一潔、蓋其心志已浼矣、若此者、言則識上帝、行則拒之、惟務違逆、自絕於善、可疾孰甚焉、

壽高年邁、氣絕而終、以返其本、其子以掃雅各葬之。

以色列族、緣摩西故、居於摩押平原而哭泣、歷至三旬、盈其日數。○

彼作惡、殺人流血、惟恐不速。

復生次子亞伯。亞伯牧羊、該隱耕田。他日該隱攜土所產、以祭耶和華。亞伯奉耶和華以首生之羊與脂膏。耶和華眷顧亞伯、而歆其祭。不顧該隱、不歆其祭、該隱盛怒變色。耶和華曰、爾怒伊何、變色曷故。苟爾行善、豈不興起乎、苟行不善、孽伏於門、惟彼必繫戀於爾、汝為之督。嗣後該隱與弟晤談、及至田間、攻而殺之。○

耶和華兮、強暴之人、欲俾予隕越、爾其拯余兮、維此驕人、在彼途旁、掘坎阱、張絆索、以陷余兮、設罟網、置機檻、以害余兮。

彼猶生存、害之至死、如塚中尸僵、弗能動也。從而獲其珍寶、貨財充棟。

怒不可過、勿藏怒至日沒時、勿容魔乘間、

惡者欲害義人、銜憾而切齒兮。主鑒惡人、知患難之將至、而哂之兮、

耶和華又曰、以東犯罪、至三至四、更逐兄弟、擊之以刃、絕無矜憫、挾怨傷人、藏怒不已、故我必罰其罪、火焚提慢、燬破斯喇之殿。

義人所有雖微、惡人貨財雖富、美惡不足以相較兮。

若喪兄弟友朋、若母死、為之哀懺、匍匐不起兮、

至約但東亞達禾場、哭之甚哀、惟約瑟為父悲哀七日。迦南居民、見其在亞達禾場悲哀、則曰、埃及人大哀、故稱約但東之地曰亞伯麥西。

昔雅各家與以掃族、兄弟也、尚加以虐遇、故必抱愧、淪胥以亡、當日爾立於旁、見異邦人入其軍旅、入其邑門、為耶路撒冷人掣籤、爾若與同謀、向爾昆弟猶大、為人薄待、爾奚可旁觀、彼幾攖殺戮、爾奚可欣喜、彼備嘗困苦、爾奚可加以悔慢、我民遘難、所遭孔迫、爾奚可入其邑門、彼罹災害、爾奚可攘其貨財、如有免於難者、爾奚可立於險隘之區、絕其歸途、如有遺民、爾奚可因其艱難之日、付於敵手、

臣僕扶之出於所乘之車、易以次輅、載至耶路撒冷而薨、葬於列祖之墓、猶大族耶路撒冷民傷之。

主耶和華曰、以東攻猶大以雪其忿、干犯於我。故我耶和華必擊以東、俾人畜俱無噍類、使提慢荒蕪、底但人飲刃、我震怒以東、必使我民以色列族、侵伐其土地、以雪我忿、使知我實降是災、我耶和華已言之矣。主耶和華曰、非利士人藏匿舊怨、中心叵測、以害我民、

以色列族、爾素所銜憾、彼受刑罰、遭患難、其日既屆、爾則加以鋒刃、戮其民人、

我儕素無知弗信、見惑於人、從嗜慾、樂佚樂、暴戾、媢嫉、為人所怨、而己亦尤人、

我喪厥膽、我之所為、主無不知、我在途中、人設網以害予兮、

押沙龍預囑其僕曰、待暗嫩飲酒已酣、我曰擊暗嫩、則殺之無畏、我既令爾、當強乃志、毋忝英武。僕遵命以行。於是王之眾子起、各乘其驢而遁。

我畏兄以掃、恐其至擊我、並擊妻拏、故求爾拯我。
