All is pure to those who are pure. But to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their minds and consciences are corrupted.They profess to know God but with their deeds they deny him, since they are detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good deed.

Then Isaac breathed his last and joined his ancestors. He died an old man who had lived a full life. His sons Esau and Jacob buried him.

O LORD, shelter me from the power of the wicked! Protect me from violent men, who plan to knock me over.Proud men hide a snare for me; evil men spread a net by the path; they set traps for me.( Selah)

We will swallow them alive like Sheol, those full of vigor like those going down to the Pit.We will seize all kinds of precious wealth; we will fill our houses with plunder.

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on the cause of your anger.Do not give the devil an opportunity.

Evil men plot against the godly and viciously attack them.The Lord laughs in disgust at them, for he knows that their day is coming.

This is what the LORD says:“ Because Edom has committed three crimes– make that four!– I will not revoke my decree of judgment. He chased his brother with a sword; he wiped out his allies. In his anger he tore them apart without stopping to rest; in his fury he relentlessly attacked them.So I will set Teman on fire; fire will consume Bozrah’s fortresses.”

The little bit that a godly man owns is better than the wealth of many evil men,

I mourned for them as I would for a friend or my brother. I bowed down in sorrow as if I were mourning for my mother.

You should not have looted their wealth when they endured distress.You should not have stood at the fork in the road to slaughter those trying to escape. You should not have captured their refugees when they suffered adversity.

So his servants took him out of the chariot, put him in another chariot that he owned, and brought him to Jerusalem, where he died. He was buried in the tombs of his ancestors; all the people of Judah and Jerusalem mourned Josiah.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to various passions and desires, spending our lives in evil and envy, hateful and hating one another.

Even when my strength leaves me, you watch my footsteps. In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.

Absalom instructed his servants,“ Look! When Amnon is drunk and I say to you,‘ Strike Amnon down,’ kill him then and there. Don’t fear! Is it not I who have given you these instructions? Be strong and courageous!”So Absalom’s servants did to Amnon exactly what Absalom had instructed. Then all the king’s sons got up; each one rode away on his mule and fled.

Rescue me, I pray, from the hand of my brother Esau, for I am afraid he will come and attack me, as well as the mothers with their children.
