Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing his father had given him. He said to himself,“ The days of mourning for my father are near; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

Esau was angry with Jacob. He was angry because of the blessing his father had given to Jacob. He said to himself,“ The days of sorrow over my father’s death are near. Then I’ll kill my brother Jacob.”

Now Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him, and Esau said to himself,“ The days of mourning for my father are approaching; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

From that time on, Esau hated Jacob because their father had given Jacob the blessing. And Esau began to scheme:“ I will soon be mourning my father’s death. Then I will kill my brother, Jacob.”

Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing his father had given him. And Esau determined in his heart,“ The days of mourning for my father are approaching; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

So Esau held a grudge against Jacob because of the blessing with which his father had blessed him; and Esau said to himself,“ The days of mourning for my father are near; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart,“ The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”

And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.

諸兄見父愛約瑟逾於己、遂憾之、不能語以善言、○

歷至四旬、厥期既盈、埃及人哭之七旬、○哭期既竟、約瑟語法老之臣曰、若蒙汝恩、請告法老曰、

中心乖戾、恆謀邪惡、播厥爭端、

諸兄曰、爾果將君我乎、抑轄我乎、故因其夢與言、而益憾之、

使者反告雅各曰、吾儕詣爾兄以掃、彼率四百人來迎爾、

心勿遽怒、蓋怒乃愚者所懷、

於潔者則物皆潔、惟於污而不信者、一無所潔、即其志趣天良亦污矣、自謂識上帝、行則背之、是為可憎、違逆、自絕於諸善工者、

壽高年邁、氣絕而終、歸於列祖、其子以掃雅各葬之、

以色列人於摩押平原、為之哀哭三旬、盈其日數、

其足趨而行惡、疾以流血、

又生其弟亞伯、亞伯為牧、該隱為農、厥後、該隱以土所產奉耶和華、亞伯亦奉以首生之羊與脂、耶和華眷顧亞伯、與其祭品、而不眷顧該隱、與其祭品、該隱盛怒變色、耶和華曰、爾怒奚為、變色曷故、苟爾行善、豈不懽顏、苟行不善、孽伏於門、彼必戀爾、爾其制之、該隱以告弟亞伯、在於田間、攻而殺之、○

耶和華歟、脫我於惡人之手、護我於強暴、彼定厥志、躓我步履兮、維彼驕人、為我置機檻、張絆索、施網道旁、為我設擭兮、○

生吞之如陰府、俾其壯健入墓、必獲珍寶、掠物盈室、

怒勿干罪、勿銜怒至日落、勿與魔以間、

惡人謀害義人、向之切齒、主必哂之、因見其日將至兮、

耶和華曰、以東干罪、至三至四、我不挽回厥罰、以其以刃追襲昆弟、絕無矜憫、發忿傷人不已、怒氣恆懷也、我必降火於提幔、燬波斯拉之宮室、○

義人所有些微、勝於惡人之豐裕兮、

我之所行、如喪友朋昆弟、屈身悲哀、如哭母兮、

至約但東、亞達禾場、號哭慟甚、約瑟為父悲哀七日、迦南居民、見其在亞達禾場號哭、則曰、埃及人之悲哀、甚矣哉、故其地名曰亞伯麥西、在約但東、

以爾行暴於爾昆弟雅各、必蒙羞恥、永世見絕、昔日外人掠其貨財、異族入其邑門、為耶路撒冷掣籤、爾立於旁、若敵中之一焉、爾昆弟遘災之日、爾不可旁觀、猶大人見滅之日、爾不可欣喜、於其遭難之日、爾不可狂言、我民遇禍之日、爾不可入其邑門、受罰之日、爾不可旁觀其苦、罹害之日、爾不可攘取其財、不可立於通衢、而絕其逃脫者、於其患難之日、不可付其遺民於敵、

僕乃扶之下車、易以所備副車、載至耶路撒冷而卒、葬於列祖之墓、舉猶大及耶路撒冷之眾、為之哀悼、

主耶和華曰、以東行報復於猶大家、因報復而干大罪、故我必伸手於以東、絕其人畜、使之荒涼、自提幔至於底但、其人俱隕於刃、假我民以色列之手、依我烈怒大忿、行報復於以東、使知我之報復、主耶和華言之矣、○主耶和華曰、非利士人心存蔑視、而行報復、從其永憾、圖滅我民、

因爾恆懷仇怨、且於以色列族遭難之時、受罰之際、付之於刃、

蓋我儕素亦無知、悖逆、迷惑、役於情慾佚樂、以狠毒媢嫉度生、見惡於人、亦彼此相惡、

我靈昏憒之時、爾知我徑、敵在我行之途、暗為設網兮、

押沙龍命其僕曰、當伺暗嫩飲酒快心、我諭爾曰擊暗嫩、則殺之、毋畏、命爾者非我乎、當壯膽而奮勇、僕循押沙龍命、以處暗嫩、王子咸起、各乘其驢而遁、

求爾拯我、脫於吾兄以掃之手、蓋我懼之、恐其來擊我、爰及母子、
