恶人决意要对付义人，向他咬牙切齿。但主必讥笑恶人，因为见他受罚的日子将要来到。

一个义人拥有的虽少，却好过许多恶人的富有。

我往来奔走，像为我的朋友、弟兄；我哀痛、沮丧，像为母亲悲哀。

他们来到约旦河对岸的亚达禾场，就在那里大大哀哭，哭得极其沉痛。约瑟为他父亲举哀七天。那地的居民迦南人看见亚达禾场上的哀悼，就说：“这是埃及人的一场沉痛的哀悼。”因此约旦河对岸那地方名叫亚伯-麦西。

其实，我们从前也是无知、悖逆、被迷惑的，做各种欲望和享乐的奴仆，活在恶毒和嫉妒中，是可憎恶的，又彼此相恨。

我的灵在我里面虚弱时，你知道我的道路；在我所行的路上，他们为我暗设网罗。

求你救我脱离我哥哥以扫的手，因为我畏惧他，恐怕他来击杀我，连母亲和孩子也一同击杀。
